2002 360 Spyder, 18800 miles...kept getting P0442 error code. Failed emission test. Smelled fuel while taking a sharp right turn... read about micro cracks in fuel pump caps. Checked fuel pumps and caps... everything peachy till I filled the tank, now an overpowering smell of fuel, but cannot find leakage or puddles anywhere.
Wife is afraid I may blow up the house, so can anyone share any knowledge or experience on this?
    Thanks in advance...

The quickest and surest way to get to the problem is a smoke test.

Me again, to make a correction on earlier statement, the fuel pumps were changed, along with the gas tank cap. The smell is less, but still faint... smoke test was performed before fuel pumps changed with no luck in isolating the vapor leak.

Would not park it in a sealed garage until fixed.

have a qualified shop look at it.

or if you have time and skills take off side covers and inspect entire fuel evap system
