    Hello All
My 365gt4 is finally painted and ready for re assembly with a beautiful refreshed interior and carpets.

The exterior is still let down by the sidelights which are cracked and held together with superglue.

Has anyone recently refurbished theirs or knows where we can get new lenses or even better new modules?

I've looked at the ones on ebay and they don't look any better than what I have got with cracks and chips on them and faded amber in the lights.

    Thanks in advance

    Nathan

I've had mixed results (right one OK, left one so-so):

Break fluid is nice to get rid of the dirt and the old (orange) paint.

Once clean, I just glued most of the bits together with epoxy (pre-heated with a heat gun). This was ten years ago, would do it now with b7000 glue as it is now widely available and optically clear.

For the big chunks missing (usually next to the aluminium pillar), I've used plastiline (like play doh, but natural colour and thinner) so as to shape a mold for the glue. That's not exactly a mold, but at least the plastiline allows to retain the glue and avoid slippage.

Once all is in one piece, I've applied polytrol: that's a varnish rejuvenator, it fills all the small cracks. Let it dry several days, then polishing compound and elbow grease. As a side note I now prefer black polish over white polish. scratches are less visible when filled with black rather than white compound.

You can see on the second picture that my lens had numerous small cracks, in the last pictures, most are gone. When I did the other lens my stock of polytrol had aged (not as liquid as it used to be), and the result is disappointing.

    Good day Nathan,

So far I have only found two places that offer replacement signal light lenses:

http://www.squadranuvolari.com/ferrari-products.htm see part "Ferr410frt" at $856/$976 USD for a pair.
Sadly, I have seen some mixed reviews of this firm and apparently to fit their replacement lenses takes a great deal of work.

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/installing-squadra-nuvolari-repro-front-lenses.316553/

The other is https://www.okp.de/xtc2/Ferrari/55-Beleuchtung/Blinker/Blinkerglas-rechts-365/-400-412i-weiss-weiss::18736.html and they offer the lenses for 400 Euro each. I have read positive reviews of this firm and these lenses and so they may be the one to try.

Lastly, I looked at making my own lenses and I have to say that the molds needed are quite large and complicated... and thus I can see why the replacement lenses cost as much as they do.

Please post up what you end up doing, as I, too, need to figure out what to do about my lenses.

    Cheers,

    Sam

Sorry can’t help with sourcing replacements.
Miraculously mine are OK at the moment. Maybe we need some form of protective covers ?
Is there any hope of 3D printing in the future for lenses ?

    Thanks all for the responses
I'm going to try and get some replacement lenses from the German company - very expensive - but will set the car off a treat after its re spray.

    Hi Nathan,

When my respray was completed late last year I decided to fit all new lights, rubbers and badges. The front side lights you need came from Europsares, but were pricey at about GBP 590 each, plus VAT. The fit was poor, but the bodyshop sorted it eventually. It all looks fabulous now though, so worth the cost/effort.

    Hi Ewan
That looks great. I've tried euros pares a couple of times - none available unfortunately. I'd gladly pay the price you did for them.
