Interesting what they said towards the end that 40% of the 308 went to US and 1/3 of that went to Los Angeles.

He said 40% of all ferraris go to USA and 1/3 to LA and that was across 4 models of the time which would have been 308/Mondial/BB & 412?

I recognize some of the people in that segment from pictures in an old big Ferrari coffee table book I have had since about 1982/83.

You’re welcome! Did you also heard him say they only manufacture eleven cars per day in four different model? That’s not very many at all.

I don't think the Boxer or 400 were imported to US. All the ones here were grey market or independently federalized.

We never got either over here straight from the factory.

The mid 70's was the wrost time. Only the 308 GT4 made it here and that had to be rebranded Ferrari to move them off the lots

You’re welcome Tommy! What do they mean they only manufacture eleven cars per day and in four different models? I wonder if they meant the GTS, GTB, Mondial, 2 valves, and 4 valves.

Nice period video. I got a kick out of the comment, "The only thing we really know about our customers is they have a lot of money!"

Great video. The lady with the paint brush made me laugh. Nowadays people obsess about the car being all original and demanding paint readings etc, and here is a lady slathering on some extra red with a brush.

    1982?

And that's V-8 four valve heads shown at about 1:05 or so? Does not seem right.

The 4V was well into development in 82 but the 308s and the engines you saw with the black intake manifold are all 2Vi

Awesome. Love the period photos and I’m curious which book you are referring too.
I would like a coffee table book of our cars.
    And thank you!

It's just one of those typical big hardcover Ferrari books. This particular one was the first one I bought back in late 82 I think. Maybe 81, when I was still in grade school.

I stared at it so much that as soon as I saw one of those engine guys it hit me instantly even though I haven't pulled that book off the shelf in 20 years.

There are only a couple of photos
