Morning All Does anyone use this jack with a 3X8? If so, does the cars possible jacking points suit this lift, and if so how easy is it to use? Many thanks in advance for any comments.
here are 8 pgs of discussion on the Quick Jack, including on 3x8 https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/quick-jack-lift.575737/ I have the 5000EXT, which is almost too long for the 308 but it does work and it also works on all my other vehicles. The standard 5000 would have been too short on some of them.
I can tell you my car has been on a Quickjack for three years with no issues. Sadly, it been a Quickjack for three years. My biggest concern is there will be an earth quake before I finish the projects.
I’m on the process of buying one. A big friend of mine and also 308 owner told me that the 5000 alone didn’t feel safe and decided to exchange for the EXT. He said that the EXT is perfect Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Interested in getting one for my 328. Is the 5000EXT the quickjack to get? Any lifting pucks etc you fine folks would recommended? Thank you
I bought the SLX. It’s fine, but use it so it pushes the car slightly forward when raising. That way the centre of gravity is more in the centre of the Jack. This procedure would probably be reversed for front engined cars. No need for extra mounting blocks - the ones supplied work fine with a 3x8.
What lifting points do you use? Any of the diagram below? The normal lifting points will not allow the jacks to be parallel Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I can't see how there would be an issue with either of these if they are rated for the load. Once it's locked it's certainly as safe as jack stands. Personally I went with the MaxJax which is a mid range two post lift that will work in a standard garage. It will give you 56 inches of lift which is enough to sit in an office chair and roll under the vehicle but I'll be honest and tell you that a post lift is not ideal for all situations because it interferes with the doors and getting in and out of the car or accessing the interior. A QuickJack or even a scissor lift of some sort works well on a 308 because there is really nothing in the center section of the chassis that you need to get to. I mean really, there's nothing there. So bottom line is - you need both. Typical Ferrari - two of everything...
I have the same model for years works fine just make sure the safety support legs ar Locke in when you lift it up. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here’s how I use mine. It’s an SLX, not ELX. Very solid. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
