I'm thinking of going to the FCA meeting that is being held at Mont Tremblant which is about an hour and a half drive outside of Montreal. The only issue would be transporting my car from the Las Vegas/Socal area, to Mont Tremblant. I've not done much in the way of shipping cars, never mind shipping across the Canadian border. The distance is about 2500 to 2700 miles. I have a truck and trailer, but that's about a five day trip each way so that's out. I'm curious as to others experiences shipping cars long distance and cross border. What's the best companies to go with, and what can I roughly expect to pay?

    Thanks

I have shipped them up to about 1000 miles. You can use Uship.com to get a rough estimates and see if any trucks are going that route. It's not an easy route so it could take weeks to organize.

Uship can be a good, cheap way to ship a car. I would not use it for an exotic. Better to book directly with a known exotic shipper. Big companies like Exotic car transport, Horseless Carriage, etc... are good. I recently got a good price from Nick at Plycar for an L.A. to Atlanta delivery.

I use Bob. A broker out of Texas. Always cordial, reliable, and keeps costs down. Open or enclosed. Never had an issue (knock on wood)

    It's a 2007 F430.

I called Bob in Texas, and unfortunately he doesn't ship to Canada.

I've received a couple of quotes in the $5500 to $6000 range - not worth it IMHO.

maybe try him. He hauled a 550 and GT4 for me.

Why not ship it to the US side of the border, fly there and drive the rest of the way? Cheaper to ship it all US and then you don't have to pay broker fees to cross the border. I'm sure you could get it close enough to do a 1 day drive there.

I have read many nightmares regarding Uship. Cars getting lost, delayed. You really do not know who will be transporting the car since it is contracted out.
I would highly recommend TFX international. They specialize in cross border transport.
I have used them in the past when I purchased a US vehicle and had it shipped to me. They not only handle importing, but also transport vehicles to special events.
They also update transport status in a timely manner. You wint be left wondering where your vehicle is.
Check out their website and some of their videos

I also need to ship. However, I'm thinking about just shipping to NY state and picking the car up and driving over the border. Seems like a lot less paperwork. Luckily I have friends that can potentially receive the car.
