Anyone that does know more about the yellow German 458 Speciale?

I am seriously considering this car.

I know of of 3 recent transactions which seem to support the strength of the Speciale market though it has dwindled a bit...
    1. White Speciale with high mods sold very quickly for I believe $395k or 399k. Had I believe 3k miles
    2. Unique color Speciale very low miles sold around $355-360k
    3. White Speciale unique interior 3k miles possibly sold for $375k

I purposely kept details a bit vague to protect owner privacy. But these are details from people I know.
    A few points to gather...
-I believe desirable colors still are holding relatively decent value...my guess is that white and red Speciales are down maybe 10k or so
-A unique color or spec can be had for a lower price.
-anything can happen with recent market tanking and hysteria of Corona virus
-agree with ttforcefed, F40 remains strong

I agree here... the limited editions such as SA and GTO’s have dropped like rocks.
I had a close friend let go a beautiful Rosso Corsa SA with just over 3k miles for around $485k

Bumping this thread, what are the current thoughts on long term Speciale investment.

Joe - you already know the answer. Great car to drive, not a great investment.

I doubt they will ever go below $300k

One purchase of a higher mileage car doesn’t make the market.

The market is currently $340 - $385k which is right around MSRP....

Not a bad little play if you bought one new.

Beats the ****e out of loosing your pants!

They have certainly held their value well but you’re quoting the asking price range for cars with several thousand miles. Many of those examples are not moving at those prices for months and months. Prices have softened this year for most special cars, including Pistas and even true LE models like the tdf’s, GTO, and SA. I’m not sure the Speciale is somehow immune.

Speciale is a car you can buy and drive here and there without taking much of a hit if any. Put miles on it and it's another story.

Definitely a great car to drive, but surely these are still a great investment. The last NA V8... and the special version of it. Obvious points that everyone here already knows, but if they do dip, they will certainly climb long term.

I agree that prices have softened this year. This is more about Ferrari launching more cars than Honda plus every other manufacturer which gives buyers too much candy to choose in the store.

Sub $300k. Please let me know which car I can buy now for this price as I am interested.

    Thank you.

As I mentioned before, a Speciale with over 10k miles can be had for under $300k.

As time moves on I do wonder if the delta between high and lower mileage cars reduces. Is the Speciale a $500k+ car in 10 years? No clue, but I’d say has a chance.

Unless, something crazy and extraordinary happens... like you see in the movies when they make a silly movie about a virus taking over the world... as if that could ever happen!

On a serious note, the 458 Speciale has so much going for it, from a future perspective.

There's a white one that I've had my eye on for a while, it's been sitting for about 6 months for some reason. Price is a bit high but sheer low mileage.
