I have a few unopened 1/18 scale, 9" long of this promotional Ferrari 312PB
that was offered locally by the Shell gas stations. It is quite nice, fully open able, well detailed for a mass produced model. Comes with a fuel filler barrel, appropriately...Shell.
I would like to sell them, as really have no need of a full racing team ;)

Would anybody have any idea what they might be worth?

    Thank you.
    Regards, Alberto

I got one on Ebay last week for $18. But I think I got lucky as the seller had it in a weird area. Still waiting for it to arrive....

It is not bad looking in pics, but the gold wheels are almost a "chrome" like gold, when they should simply be painted gold.

    Thank you Ryan,
You are right about the gold chrome. The one I am keeping, I painted gold. Much better!
Can you send a link about the e-bay posting?
    Thank you.

    Alberto

If unopened, actual sales have been around $40-$50 USD.

I think there were 3 or 4 models in the shell series.

I have this one as well and one of the others which I believe was a TR. I can't remember as they are all packed away right now in storage.

Dumb lucked into mine at a shell station one day filling up.

Bad timing. I sold 2 of the 312 PB’s as part of a bulk buy deal to a trader just last week!

There was a burgundy red 250 Testarossa (also with some kind of Shell fuel pump accessory) that I sold together with about 150 other models that I just don’t have room to store and never would display again, making room for new models :)

Think they are selling for around £10 on eBay now so he paid like £5 each for them!

There were both 1:18 and smaller ones, all over Indianapolis for the first Formula 1.

I have them all somewhere..no idea as to current market value but at the Shell Stations they were not expensive, $32? maybe.

On 16th Street in the specialty shops they zoomed to $125!!

Hello Alan, well, I have been holding them forever, sure would like to move them!
I thought I was going to make a scuderia... meet FIA req. and have them omologated :)
Make a factory diorama, reparto corse, with 25 or so all lined up. A bit ambitious, I know.

Even then, all 6 together, for a small investment and repainted wheels, would look great.

    Regards, Alberto
