    Good day All,

In the continued spirit to document our cars... Chassis 54119 was sold a few days ago at the Gooding auciton for $131600 USD which was above estimates ($80K - $100K) which I think is a strong price for a nice car.

    Cheers,

    Sam

Nice car and nice price! Any one know who was the consignor?

I can’t say having seen one this nicely presented, and to such high standard, in a long time... it deserved the sale price (no reserve) and definitely helps boost the prices for our cars, which have been languishing for a while!

I was one of the underbidders on this car. It was utterly spectacular. Skeets Dunn was the consignor, and owned the car since 1985. I would be surprised if there is another nicer 400i in existence.

Indeed. But the advert says it is Bruno Acajou, and it looks nothing like any Bruno Acajou Ferrari 400 I’ve ever seen, including my own! Must be the light?!

Compare this to the pictures of Mr Heineken’s car, for example. Bruno Acajou is a dark brown, not a light copper colour. Just makes me think it’s not quite as original as is suggested. Lovely car all the same though.

The paint has been refreshed somehow: there is a slight colour difference between the right door and the fender. Great looking car though, and this livery stands out from the crowd.

Yes but that is an F1 car. The six-speed 575s are generally as high or higher than this 400i. Of course, with the 550...all of them are six-speed manuals, so. Who knows.

But it is nice to see a beautiful 400i 5-speed get that much attention.
