Well, if you paid close to MSRP that’s not a bad thing...prevailing prices at the time.

    Info from reliable source?

This would surprise me a lot that Ferrari would not milk the VS cash cow on the F8... Just a bit more combustion engine or electric power combined with more downforce would do!

It’s base....nobody spending this kind of cash would want a base Pista.

Who the hell uses the keyhole? Lol

First time hearing about this. Did you personally have some kind of weird issue opening the door? Just seems odd.

Faster life cycles of cars, shareholders to please with a rising stock valuation, plan with more models yet fewer units of each model, easy sale for dealer network who could package a requirement of another less desirable Ferrari model or two to boost units - I’m sorry, that recipe is too good for Ferrari to pass up - they will make an F8 VS. With that said, it doesn’t make the Pista less incredible, just not the latest and greatest perhaps one day.

Actually I had to do it because my key fob didn't work one cold day, the battery was low and the car was locked. Once it warmed up a bit, no problem and then I replaced the battery. However, I don't mind the door handles at all, they are easy to operate and out of the way. I just never got that criticism of the car, one of many stupid criticisms.

F8 is a stopgap car because the V6 hybrid would not be ready in time. So long as the hybrid is ready, Ferrari will not do anything else with the F8.

I'd say a 90% probably of no new F8 variants.

Assuming the demand for the V6 hybrid will be as expected ...not too sure about that myself.

For sure they are not stupid but they must have a plan 'B' just in case the whole hybrid thing turns out to be a bit of a flop.

Good or bad, hybrids are the future. This is why manufacturers have been testing them. La Ferrari, 918, P1. All hybrids.

How so, do you have experiences with it coming off - or do you personally not like the look? The latter does not make it a disaster, it just means you don't like it. I think the handles add flair and excitement, and they serve a purpose in terms of feeding air to the side vents. Functional design works for me.

I’ve never even thought of the door handles. Amazing how people will make such an inconsequential thing an issue.

the sound, the door handles, etc etc.

Interesting. I was always told the F8 was a quick addition that slots in between the Pista and 488 to kick back at the McLaren 720S.

At any rate, no, no new F8 VS no matter how bad some F8 owners would like a second chance of getting a "Pista".

That usually the situation when people feel insecure about something newer and better coming along.

Haven't you heard? The 458 is the greatest car of all time:)

  24. If this is true, then I would say Ferrari failed.

The 720S is arguably still "better" numbers-wise than the Pista and will probably still be better (on paper, numbers-wise) than the F8.

I just don't see McLaren looking at any of the 488/F8/Pista variants and thinking, "Gosh, we need to roll out the LT version stat cuz the prancing horse company is kicking our British arse."

Not sure I follow you here. Aside from maybe 0-100 kph stuff, where has the 720S proven to have better numbers than the Pista? At the moment the Pista seems to set records at various tracks, even beating the GT2RS. Aside from a bit of straight line accelleration stuff, where has the 720S officially beaten the Pista?

The idea with the F8 was not to beat the 720S. It was merely to close the gap a bit and equal the ongoing horsepower wars. My guess is that the average well trained smateur driver will drive an F8 and 720S around the track at similar lap times. The cars are close enough that a small mistake is all it would take to change the outcome of a track duel.
