Hello! This is post number two for me on Ferrari Chat. I just purchased a 1988.5 328 GTS and was wondering what is the best Ferrari club to join in the Northeast? I'm assuming Ferrari Club of America is the big one but wanted to make sure before I joined and paid my money. I race and instruct with PCA but have no plans to track the 328. Just looking to see if there are social events, etc., with other Ferrari owners in the area. Excited to finally fulfill the dream of owning a Ferrari!
I just bought the car the other day on BaT so I'm in the process of arranging transport - either Reliable or Horseless Carriage. Below is a picture from the auction. She should be sitting in my driveway in the next 7 - 10 days. Very excited! I just hope that I get some clear days without snow or salt on the road so I can have a little fun! Same boat here. I bought my 328 in July, and I’m a chief instructor with PCA NNJR. Are you with CVR? I also will absolutely not be tracking my Ferrari, although I might check out a FCA track event next season. I did go to an FCA event in the fall and it was awesome. Beautiful cars and great people. A bunch of people I knew form SCCA, PCA and BMWCCA were there as well with their Ferrari’s.
Yes, I am with CVR and became the assistant track chair this year. I was looking to see if I can make a FCA event at LRP since I am only a little over an hour from there if I am not towing. They have an event at LRP at the end of July but I may be racing with PCA at Mosport. If I am not at Mosport I plan to swing by. While I never plan to "track" the 328 I will do a few obligatory 6/10s laps with it just to have a little fun, but I would never beat on it.
G Good times! I was track chair of our region for two years. It was a lot of work but well worth it. I think FCA allows non FCars at their events, right? Maybe I could bring my 964 if I should ever instruct for them. Beautiful 328 by the way! Best of luck with it!
Yes, I believe that I read FCA allows non-Ferraris at their events. That is the way with most car clubs otherwise they have trouble filling the event. Sometimes when you walk around the paddock you can't tell what marque the event is for.
Ferrari on the truck and slated to be delivered Monday night. I have a temporary registration so looking forward to meeting the transport truck and driving home! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Home safe and sound in my (for now) cluttered garage. Took her out for a one hour drive and I am still smiling! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my SM-G965U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
