Hi folks...my name is Doug. I'm not new to FC but I've been inactive since I sold my 360 in 2016. I've recently been entertaining the idea of a TR. I've spent a fair amount of time here learning about them and I have a pretty good handle on what's for sale in the US at the moment. My goal is a non red (white preferred), 20k-ish miles and reasonable pricing. Much on the internet/ebay is not what I would consider reasonable. But this car I located at Ryan Friedman Motors mostly ticks the boxes for me (https://www.ryanfriedmanmotorcars.com/1990-ferrari-testarossa-c-674.htm). Until this morning he had it listed as a 1991. When I informed him the VIN says otherwise he changed the headline anyway. As I spoke with Ryan this morning and he said the car was at Universal Auto Sports right now getting a belt service and anything else it needs. That's huge for me as it, hopefully, won't require anything major for a while. Anyway, this seems to be a pretty small community and I was wondering if anyone has seen the car or knew of it. PS I know the interior is a little funky with the creme/red but I actually like it. Maybe this is holding the car back? It seems to have bounced around a fair amount with only about 2000 miles put on in the last 6 years. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

    Hey Doug.

Don’t know the particular car but a carfax should be a first.

Make sure you do a check to confirm that the exhaust gas is within spec. A slightly out of phase cam will show up right away.

A solid PPI from a third party is a must.

Me? Sold the 360 Spider... kept the Testarossa. Much preferred. Good choice.

Thanks for the advice. I do have a Carfax on it. Like most of these there seems to be multiple owners. Nothing bad shows up on it though.

I have a white 90 and work on them. The interior is an odd combination and its great that you like it but it still hurts the value and will be an issue when you decide to sell. Ours has a few more miles and the interior is in vastly better condition. The fact that there are no under hood pictures set alarm bells to me.

It supposedly is at a place called Universal getting a belt change (and anything else it needs according to Ryan Friedman). The interior is funky but I like it...sorta. I'm in no hurry. But I prefer white. Thanks for your input.

Universal is generally well regarded and Ryan Friedman gets some extremely nice Porsches through. Porsche pricing is extreme high end, but I’ve never heard anything but good

Looks to me that the right back wing has a little darker white than the rest of the car. Picture 2 and 12.Can be just a picture thing, but has to be checked.

Could these color combo really be requested from factory ? It alsmost seem to me as if the seats were just replaced by the one in the picture and orignal were another color, or maybe the dash was another color combo. Were there so many tailored combo offered by ferrari back then ?

Yes within my budget. Fresh $11,500 engine out service too which is ideal. I didn't want to mess with that if I didn't have to. It was advertised for a lot higher than I paid. The market is soft which helped in negotiations.

I know that car extremely well! I almost bought it two years ago :).
A fellow Fchatter owned it. He’s a great car guy and very anal retentive about his vehicles. We discussed the vehicle in depth several times.
The only reason I didn’t buy it is that I wanted the ‘Miami Vice’ interior colors. Enjoy it and have fun!.

Not surprised. Unless it’s a major dealer, it seems that at some point they all become flexible on price and that is usually down 20-30% from asking prices.
