    BREAKING NEWS -
The world tennis association has struck a deal with a TV company where a major tournament will take place every two weeks where Federer will win almost every match because he has the biggest racket and no-one is allowed to change theirs, most [all] of the opposition will have a hole in the racket, their trainer shoelaces are tied together & constantly trip over the net in a vain attempt to win.

And for all of that you will be expected to pay £400+ per year for the privelige.

    Happy new year to everyone:)

Ah well that's the problem isn't it? There is no chance of anyone buying F1 from Liberty to do anything all that much different from what they are doing. In other words, it was a big mistake to sell it in the first place but too late to do anything about it.

Things may change in relation to TV coverage because if Sky and the broadcasters in other countries don't get the return on the money they put in then they will pay less or not bid. So money may force changes.

Similarly, more races in places no one cares about will continue as long as they want to pay the hosting fees and it doesn't much matter if there are hardly any spectators.

In other words, there is nothing to worry about.

F1 is subjected to market forces like everything else in life.

That depends upon your point of view. It is also subject to good or bad management. So market forces might just as easily mean it ceases to exist.
