The greatest American cars for sure and right up there with the best European makes. I refer to that period as being on the intersection on a graph where the pinnacle of craftsmanship and available technology in manufacturing allowed them to be made. Those two requirements, lines on the graph did not cross at any other time in history.
I saw my first one in the flesh at the underground garage at Indy, it was part of Holman George collection A SWB ssj. Simply the best car I have seen to date. Everything on It was exquisite, no compromise anywhere. IMO I took until the Maclean F1 to reach the same level of no compromise.
