Hi all. Looking for a replacement headunit for the awful Becker. Anyone have suggestions for something that isn't filled with lights/chrome/tacky? It seems almost every manufacturer is only making these now. Looking for at a minimum bluetooth and USB charging. Don't care about a CD player/etc. I've found a few things I liked, but all were discontinued and hard to find today.
I asked my Ferrari tech the same question and this is what he recommended. https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH3400NEX-Single-Multimedia-License/dp/B07GJWHVC6/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=pioneer+avh3400nex&qid=1577475416&sr=8-3
SGMDCFD - this is exactly what I'm installing in my car now..... this head unit + Scuderia Audio Amp + SA Eq + SA by-pass + SA separates + SA rear sub enclusure + back-up cam Keeping the entire stock sound system in a box (if I ever sell). Ready for: rear back-up camera, blue-tooth, proper full spectrum sounds.... Was able to source a spare set of matching carpets (rear, tunnel) from a breaker in AUS... for very cheap.... so as to not drill holes in my stock parts. Those will go in a box (if I ever sell). Trying to have only bolt-in mods..... for ease of sale. I know I steer away (instinctively) from 360's for sale with big stereo's, wings, engine mods, body mods, big wheels......
I just ordered it from Amazon. My tech said the only thing else I will need is an installation kit from Ferrari and he is ordering that. Says it's a pretty easy job. (For him that is not me)
please post up a pn for the installation kit....... scuderia audio has the audio harness adapter for sale $30...... allows for plugging into the f harness.... and then wiring to the plug in harness to avoid any cutting of f audio wires.
What do people think of these choices? I found a few of these digging a bit more. It seems like Marine radios are a bit tamer in the style department. This is new to the market. Looks like a perfect fit. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158XAV8000/Sony-XAV-AX8000.html?tp=72430 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Hey Guys, I found this in the archives, I hope the link “this” works..it’s the same head unit as the Porsche mentioned. If I was in the market I would give it serious thought. Our Fchat brother Tomconte was looking to sell it at the of the posting. Good Luck. Flyingbrick242
They do look very similar! Wonder if they must be the OEM for Porsche making theirs. I've found the Porsche one is extremely hard to find. Everyone is on backorder (and have been for months).
I've installed the Alpine ilx-f259 in my 1999 360 Modena and this weekend I'll be doing the same for the 2007 f430. I bought the adapter from Mike at Scuderia Audio, and I'll be doing a YouTube video for the entire install process and the final result this weekend! The headunit is super nice, and it has Apple Carplay, as well as a Bluetooth that you can actually hear and be heard well even with an aftermarket exhaust. I'll post the link to the video as soon as I'm done! Image Unavailable, Please Login
The install kit from Ferrari that my mechanic wrote down is part # 70003196. He was going to order it for me and said this is what he has used in other radio installations..
Not the maker of the Porsche unit, but I did like it. Probably shouldn't have sold it. Note that the nav is OK but Google maps is far better. (The same can be said for the Porsche nav, by the way)
Hi Karl. Did you end up needing to add a DIN cage to install it in the dash? Or how did you attach it?
The #70003196 is a frontplate/bezel for leveling the head unit and electric door openers when upgrading the audio in the 360. It have nothing to do with the wiring harness. Image Unavailable, Please Login For the F430 a similar bezel exists. Ferrari offer a clarion based audio upgrade some time ago. See PDF. Regards, Joerg
I’m not sure how that bezel holds and supports the head unit. This is a DIN cage (nothing to do with wiring). The Alpine unit Karl referenced doesn’t have a cage with it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FYI, this is what I'm running with right now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/JVC-KD-AVX77-El-Kameleon/184104490579 (I have no association with the seller) For those of you who want nav, it can be added. Here's an old post on it that shows how it looks when installed: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/140750395/
ttforce - I don't know yet.... after I installed my exhaust.... car went to freinds shop for paint correction......... hopefully get her back soon l)
