Anyone try completing this online? The form says to fill out Section B and mail a check or money order for the toll, minus the $50 fee.

However, online, the button is to "PAY TOLL AND DISPUTE FEE". Also:

NOTE: The violation is eligible for dispute. Please select Pay Toll and Dispute Fee to pay the outstanding toll balance and the dispute will be processed. If there are multiple fees on the notice, one fee will be dismissed, and you will be responsible for the additional fees.

Hitting the button takes to you a form-fill i.e. name, address and CC number. No totals are provided on this page.

My concern is that the Dispute fee will be taken from CC.

Here's section B on the form:

    The form's instructions say:

Inadvertent Toll Violators - Complete Section B and include a Check or Money Order for toll only, sign the Certification Section D and return the completed notice to NJ E-ZPass.

When I was in NJ and got E-ZPass fines I simply put my E-ZPass number in online and only had to pay the toll. Is this something different?

Maybe use a one-time special assigned credit card number with a limit that you set? I believe I have seen Citi and Wells offer such cards for conducting transactions with dubious parties.

Adding the violation number from the mailed (received) form to the online version does bring up our specific incident, both include a $50 fee in addition to the toll ($1.50).
That's an idea! I'll check to see if my accounts have that [limitation] capability.

Just send a check. Far less angst.

Sounds simple enough, but dealing with NJ I don't expect that it will be easy. Section B on the paper form, Dispute Section, doesn't provide very much space to "Describe in detail". It's so much easier to copy & paste for the online form.

Send a MC/VS gift card or use the # from one.
NJ can't take what isn't there.

I've called to dispute my violations before and although it's a PIA to reach someone, it's effective. Having a NY EZPass vs NJ and location all comes into account.
