Thanks for resurrecting this thread. I’ve been looking for a superlative 84-86 GTV for years now. Red/tan strongly preferred, 100% original paint (or very close to it), low mileage, full history, no modifications. In other words, I’m looking for the best of the best, and I’m willing to pay for it. And I know that I’m looking for a unicorn, which is why I haven’t been able to find one.
They are out there.. but yes, your specs are demanding. So many have been modified or unloved. Still - as prices go up, the good ones will come out of the woodwork as usual.. and the exceptional ones will emerge. Best of luck! - Art
A few more FIA Euro touring car champion GTV6 photos from the mid 1980's. These little Alfa V6's were the best sounding and loudest cars on the track with their howling Alfa Busso V6's. Even better than the Jaguar V12's in my opinion, and much better than the straight six BMW's and turbo Volvo's. I enjoy taking my GTV6 2.5L to a local road course one or twice per year.. and it never fails to be the only Alfa there, and the V6 never fails to get remarks about its amazing sound as I go through the gears down the straight. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The owner of the Road and Track Callaway Test car asked me to find her a new home I thought I knew a bit about Alfa's, but this was off my radar COMPLETELY until crossing paths. What a cool car. This puppy Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another season of track racing and driving the GTV6, it runs perfectly.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Had the GTV6 out for a 200 mile Fall Foliage Fundraiser this last weekend. I shared it with other drivers of Miata, Lotus, Porsche, Camaro, Citroen, Maserati, Plymouth, BMWs... and the GTV6 got voted "Most Fun to Drive". Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another great Frenchman Loubet video when he drove Alfa Romeo GTV6's and Milano's. What he did at the Tour de France in 1986 before the GTV6 was banned is amazing. The GTV6 was a great tarmac rally car.
No surprise here. The Busso is that good, and look at some of the motors it beat. The above video shows the 2.5 V6 racing in the GTV6 and the 3.0 is most of the Milano footage, with some 4C Turbo footage also. https://petrolicious.com/articles/the-top-ten-classic-six-cylinders-ever?fbclid=IwAR1nBzBhRZbWEF6btvEdZgsaILo9AeFt47nYRwRXxdqgpVoo4LqqhVZVo0M
I wish we got the 4 door alfetta in the US. It's just a good looking saloon car! Image Unavailable, Please Login
The entire original video from Gema racing. Nice V6 sound comparisons between the V6 2.5 and 3.0 motors and the not as good sounding Turbo. I like the higher pitch 2.5 motors sound best. They sound even better in the FIA Group A higher tuned state. Alfetta heaven
Tour de Corse 1986 and the end of Group B. The Alfa GTV6 racing against these monsters is rather strange as it was basically a modified street car. Henri and Sergio lost their lives driving the Lancia during this one. The GTV6 finished 3 overall.
It is nice to see that it is some interest for the GTV6 among the Ferrari guys! I love Alfa´s myself, and this is one of my GTV6´s. A original Grand Prix originated from Switzerland with. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Colin Comer recommends the GTV6 in this video covering favorite cars of the 1980s. He's owned a Callaway car for many years https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1102776043429377
Mario's GTV6 is for sale. Got when he drove for the Alfa Romeo Auto Delta F1 team back in 1980-81. https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/0120/Driving-into-Summer/lots/r0186-1981-Alfa-Romeo-GTV-6-25/896046?&utm_source=rmsothebys.com&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=0120&utm_term=0120_ItalianCars&utm_content=lot_text&_cldee=ZnJlZHJAb3JjaGFyZC5tcw==&recipientid=contact-7a8cc18cb955e9118223000c2971a03a-54c113984609455da99a30664b6f46a1&esid=d773ca25-559f-ea11-824b-000c2971a03a&fbclid=IwAR3jalFR33PZvYvB_tzT6mJubseD5dO02rMey3Ti_Icj3EsMqGq85M1Yxmo Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice picture someone posted of a 1981-83 GTV6, maybe a demo from the factory in Italy. Funny how Alfa GTV6's were given to race drivers as gifts by the factory. RIP Carlos. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not a GTV6, but a car almost as important as the GTV6 in FIA touring racing with another great F1 driver at Monza in 1966. Photo credit :Bruno Busnelli Image Unavailable, Please Login
