I was told, on good authority, that my dogbone was mounted "upside down". I'm perplexed . The first photo shows the dogbone as viewed from the rear of the car in the orientation that I last installed it. The last photo shows the dogbone flipped. Nuts are on the right (like last photo) on an '85. My guess is it's because most assemblers were right-handed! Note, strut design is different on an '85.

Could the claim be some sort of Concours judging issue? Such as, the head of the bolts must be on the left side of the car? Therefore, as viewed installed in the car (the head of the bolts were on the right side of the car when this happened) it appears "upside down"? I don't think my authority was having me on.
I am on the board that makes concours judging rules for Ferrari. If someone ever deducts for the bolts being installed backwards or the strut being upside down send that person to me. He needs to be corrected.
I would have to agree on the bolt direction theory. When I had my bushings replaced the strut measure symmetrical. The mounting bracket on the rear bulkhead was definitely directional. Just saying......
