I purchased this 2008-pre OTO 612 in September 2018 with 17,500 miles, it now has 25,300. I loved every single mile. The car is perfect. The timing was from best my tech can tell (Steve Maxwell) done very recently before I bought the car. It has the correct pipe upgrade on the top of the engine as well. This is a no story, I am just moving to something else car.

I am pricing this car to sell, because I hate dealers. If you know about 612's, this is a great price for a no story car.

    Details you care about:
    1) Just had a full service at Steve Maxwell Exotics 11/19
    2) New rear tires 11/19
    3) New brakes all around 11/18
    4) No paint work
    5) Had dash & headliner recovered due to sagging in August of 2019 at a cost of $7k
    6) Had car color corrected polished in September
    7) Car runs perfectly and needs nothing
    8) I have the books for the car

    VIN: ZFFJB54A280158920

If you are considering the last of the great GT's, this is a great buy. I have passed on consigning it to a dealer, because I would rather just sell it for what I want instead of having you have to deal with a dealer markup.

Car is located in Rancho Santa Fe, CA and buyer can pay to have it shipped anywhere.

$92,500 (I bought it for 105k last year)

If you add in the cost of the divorce it would cause, it’s in Bugatti price range. Like many, I need to thin the herd first & it’s hard to pick which of my children (vehicles) to push out of the house (garage).

Awesome car and a great spec! I like the pre-OTO cars, and this must be one of the last ones. Timing is wrong with my impending move though.

BTW, what issues do you have with the tie rod ends today that you didn't have last weeks? Photos?

Starting in late 2008 if you wanted a 612 it had to be custom ordered. There were two major changes in the OTO cars. They used the dual disc system in the 599 & they have an electrochromatic roof. There is a very high failure rate on the roof's which cost all the monies to sort out.

The car I am selling is one of the last pre-oto cars made (we think).

high failure rate - pretty sure thats unsubstantiated, ive never seen any numbers behind it.
OTO also came with ceramic brakes, different exhaust, different suspension, upgrades BOSE audio (which the OP car has) , and manettino on the steering wheel.

I've heard of enough roof failures that I won't buy a 612 that has one. This would be the perfect 612 for me if I didn't just buy a Raptor last month!

Better we move this longer discussion over to the 612 thread. I have spoken with 7 OTO owners and every one of them had failures. That would be ~13% failure just through friendly chat. The tech was really early stage when it was used.

I totally get why this comment makes sense, but part of me just reads “I would buy that v12 Ferrrari GT but I can’t because I just bought a Ford pickup”

As everybody here knows, I've been looking at 612's for almost two years. Finding a super rare 360 sunroof stick made me get that instead, and buying a place in CO lead to the truck.

Once in CO, I will again start looking for the right 612. I would really like a yellow one. :)

Noting Icelanders comment on the transmission / clutch ... The OTO and later do have the double clutch, 4 friction face systems. The shift is great but the tech wisdom says they last 60% as long and cost 50% more ... Pretty expensive on a cost per millisecond of shift difference. And I also have never seen a a roof that worked in the 4 I've ever seen ..... The same glass tech is used in fancy bathrooms ... Hope it's more reliable there :)

The roof works just fine in my 2008 OTO.
It doesn't seem logical that 4 friction surfaces would wear quicker than two? Where did you get that info?
