I had to replace the entire assembly as shown in the first photo above. I ordered it from XKs Unlimited as the same Lucas motor is used in a V-12 XKE.

Great work. I had a local guy rebuild both my fan motors and my starter. Cost me about $150 total.

That is good price for all three units. I did my starter last fall. Toughest part was getting the ring clip back under the drive gear.

Wanted to bring this thread back from the dead. Eurton Electric's website doesn't list that part number anymore. Do you know which I should get from their site?

Nevermind. I didn't realise the website had a motor search and a parts search. Used the wrong one!

Part number for the brush plate is Lucas 54709846, but the style of the wiring and grommet can vary. Always look inside your fan motor before ordering brushes or anything else, as there can be more destruction from heat than you would imagine, like the wiring, brush plate braided wires, and even the plate itself. Quantities of black dust indicate that the shellac on the armature windings has been burnt.

Thanks John. Sounds like the grommet is not available separately. If not, what have people used?

My fans happen to be here near my desk, and each of my fans has a different grommet, one is white, and the other black. If you are going to continue with the Lucas fans, check local electronics and auto parts store for something generic.

Yes, I currently have a generic round grommet sliced w a razor blade to better fit. Just hoping someone had a source for the correct one. Thanks.
