Still torn... if you had an 812... would you pay c. £150k to get the GTS?
    Assume money IS an object....

Not sure where you get £150K from Karl?
If you say spend 50k on options [ average] then that would make it £350k roughly, that would value your 812 Superfast at £200k !
I think it is worth it to get a new open top V12, thats why I am doing it along with many others.

200k about right in 18 months time when a regular client might get a GTS

At the factory last week I noticed the hinge/shut lines for the GTS are many and wide. Be careful speccing very light colours as with roof up all you see are these and the rubber between them

Friend had the exact same dilemma and decided not to proceed (and money was NO object). Felt that its quite a price for essentially "a roof"

You may be right about the £200k in 2 years’ time, only time will tell but I think it won't be that bad, but that’s just my view, at the moment there are too many panic sellers flooding the market in the UK. In the long term they may even go up!

If they are worth 200k in 2 years then you would have lost about £100k + anyway, whether you would have bought a GTS or not.

I think the question should be would you spend £350k on a GTS?

I am doing it. And going Grigio GTS. My 812 is ferro and I am really liking the grey. IMHO...it will be a pretty special car. The allocations are going to trickle in and I think...again just my opinion...they won’t make a ton. I am In a reasonable place in the Ferrari world and I have gotten my last 4 cars very early, including my 812, and I am being told the GTS may be a wait....potentially for awhile. We will see how long but hearing that NA V12 with the top down is worth the price of entry.

350k gets you quite a modest spec, certainly no fancy paint

I am having expectations managed on a wait also. I don’t understand what takes so long between launch and client cars, I don’t think it’s attractive for Ferrari as just means that early delivery excitement is tainted by announcements re the next big thing eg Pista/F8. 812 by GTS.

Hard to say, it will have black lines running through it. Guess one gets used to them.

If one desires a FE NA V12 topless experience, not much else to choose from. So to me its worth every penny. I like darker colors as it helps hide that chunky rear end

I really think if this were not a Ferrari we would struggle to argue it is good looking, I will still have one though !

For me the GTS just doesnt work in this red. I think grey, dark blue or black will work best.

Although the Roma is very unoriginal aping many brands (Jag, Mac and Aston especially) it has immediately in my view made the 812 look old fashioned, not sleek and fussy.

I will still have one though (!!), although tempted by DBS V12 Cab, second hand. New thats even more brain damage depreciation than a Ferrari.

It is a very beautiful car when you see it in the flesh , much better than on pictures.
However, when I will get mine ( most probably in late 2020 or even maybe 2021), it may appear a little outdated... anyway, an open top car with such a great engine will always be fantastic.

The problem with the launch car is just looks very standard, needs to be a dark Metallic, the black callipers an plain wheels don’t help this red launch car either, should have gone with Rosso Fouco or Rosso Berlinetta, with painted shields and matching callipers, diamond cut GTs wheels, and a little basic rework of the official print shows how good this car can look with the right options and colours.
