$730K?! That's nuts. There gets to a point where there is just little sense in buying a standard car at this price when you can obviously afford to buy truly special cars. If you can afford $730K for a new car, you can also just afford something like a 918. Same or better performance, rare, NA sounds better, top comes off, and probably won't depreciate much at all. The depreciation on that car will be staggering.
There are people who want a new car and that car to be a Ferrari. They will have no problem to sell as many as they produce.
Or they may produce only as many as they can sell. SF730k for a production car, even in these frothy times, is ridiculous.
Wow! $810,000 USD for a regular production car!? The SF90 may take Ferrari depreciation to an entirely new level. Hopefully, Ferrari will exhibit some restraint and greatly limit production to protect early adopters of this brave new tech.
One doesn't have to go that silly on options. At 540k CHF you can have just as nice a car. AF package a total waste when IMO they will build a SF90 VS in a few years
I might be wrong, but it is my understanding that the stripe is an option only available for those who also choose the $60.000 AF pack, bringing the stripe's cost close to 100k! Bottom line is a fully loaded car, without Tailor Made, will cost an extra 50% of the almost 500k base MSRP. A steep price for a car regular production car, even by Ferrari's standard. They will sell a lot I'm sure, but it will be interesting to see the 2nd hand market in a few years.
We just traded our 2012 FF back to the dealer for 25% of its original MSRP of $394K. I know four seaters have historically suffered more depreciation but persistent concerns about the FF’s AWD / PTU have also negatively impacted residuals. LaF prices have even softened partly due to expensive battery replacement concerns. The SF90 has an incredibly complicated design, including the individual electric motors that cannot perform at speeds much above 130 mph? The SF90’s high initial price plus potentially astronomical long-term maintenance costs could wreak havoc on residuals. The Ferrari extended warranty might soften the blow but Ferrari may have to price it significantly higher than the roughly $5,500 per year for the FF. Try selling an FF without that warranty. Or even with it. And it’s only available until 15 years or a limited number of miles, IIRC? Somehow, I don’t see Ferrari taking it on its financial chin to help owners keep their SF90’s running cost effectively out of warranty.
Does the SF90 require a suitcase sized battery conditioner to be carried around with it, like the LaFerrari?
