Can someone help clarify the following VIN ZFFNE08D000047037 It is reported to be a 1984 Mondial 8 (Australian delivered), however i thought QV replaced 8 in 1983 ? and the s/n doesn't seam to fit Mondial 8 if you believe Wikipedia. thanks
Model year definition is a moving target in lots of places outside of the USA. What is clear is yours is an Australian version Mondial 8 built in Summer of 83. June, possibly July 1983. In the USA model year needs to be officially declared and indicated in the VIN. I am not aware of any other market that is done that way and different countries have different methods of assigning a year.
