I agree- nothing to do with the price- the Roma just fits my needs more closely.....and it’s an attractive car!! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Agree about the faith in the design team being restored, especially if considering also the Monza SP. Really hope this starts a trend towards smooth, sexy shapes instead of the current breed of over-adorned designs. I'd give it a ten because it's beautiful and original (love the rear, including lights) but I give it a 9 only because it's so big.
No s##t ? I can’t believe I missed that one. I musta been out of town when they presented that one. George , I’ll look it up right away. Thanks bro !!
They would want it because it's a too different. People who want a fine GT like the Aston Martin Db11 OR those in the same market for the Bentley GT as well, forget about the price difference between la ROMA and the F8, because la ROMA is a very different car with a very different customer.
I'v seen a lot cheaper prices for semi new 488 spiders (around 269 900 €! ) with 2731 Km and lots of CF specs !! I'v another question, can you please tell me about the tax rate for cars like the F8 in Denmark, how it work etc...?
Dimensions are virtually the same as the Tributo/Portofino etc....massive? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I would add that it could be for the same person but for different times. I have an 812 and my wife drives a Portofino. I will definitely be ordering a GTS and I will also get a Roma. Roma for daily use, lower profile and GTS for the weekends. I could see someone doing the same with an f8 and Roma.
Yes, but why would those two Cavallinos make them aware that it is a Ferrari, while the others (front and rear) won't? All you have to do is see one of the horses. If you don't know what car it is, it won't matter if you see 10 more... I don't believe that people put shields on for that reason.
When I first saw the Roma, I certainly had a similar thought. Roma for the daily. 812 for the weekend. But then I saw the Roma's dimensions ... too big to be a nippy London daily (largely the same size as the 812 - in fact a bit wider than the 812 which is the main problem).
A BMW 850i is faster 0-60 and has 523 hp vs 612 hp. The Roma is lacking all the newer active safety technology, which adds virtually insignificant weight, but adds considerable amount of safety. An AWD option would be a huge plus, especially if meant as a daily driver. I love the simple and sexy shape. Ferrari is going to have to try harder and be willing to evolve their MO even more or they will end up in the lost forever bin with Netscape and AOL. My Superfast would be worth a lot more to be if it had all the safety technology of a Tesla Model 3. I would still have my 488 if the AC was able to cool the cabin off in the summer.
BMW official figures for 850i xdrive (four wheel drive) 0-100km/h (or 0-62mph) = 3.7 seconds Ferrari official figures for Roma for 0-100km/h = 3.4 seconds. Close. But BMW not faster despite four wheel drive traction.
Everyone’s preference is different, but rear wheel drive only, without all the modern supposed safety nonsense is my preference and far superior a prospect of an entertaining drive. All those new supposed safety devices add nothing of interest to me. They are largely, in my view, designed for people who the manufacturers believe don’t or can’t invest the the right degree of concentration and focus on skill development when driving.
So about 1/3 of the poll responders consider it to a miss, 7 or less. I guess that would have to be considered a smashing success compared to other recent models like the 812 and the SF90.
