Gasly at Ferrari. Are you serious ? People may get exited because he finished on the podium in Brazil, but that 2nd place was a fluke, and everybody knows it. Vettel, Leclerc, Albon and Hamilton dropped out of the leaderboard, and Gasly inherited his 2nd place by default. I don't begrudge him that podium, but I wouldn't draw any conclusion from it ! As for Gasly to be Ferrari material, well, I simply don't think so.
I’m as a serious as anyone suggesting a freshman f1 driver with 0 points is a contender for the Ferrari seat Image Unavailable, Please Login I’m seeing more than just the 1 podium for gasly. He’s significantly moved Toro Rosso up the leader board in just about every race and qualifying since he got moved there. That’s what I expected to see from Daniel, but haven’t (fwiw, I really do LIKE DR...I think he’s great for the sport. I’m just not impressed with his driving anymore and need to see more in order to believe he still has it. Fanboys should post examples of what he’s done THIS year to make their case, instead of just gushing over him like teenage girls over Justin bieber). It’s not about podiums, it’s level of improvement on these lesser teams. I also don’t see erratic, selfish behaviour, or contentedly accepting mediocrity. A move for gasly next year would be premature, but so is most of the other predictions/suggestions around here. 2021 will be a huge year of change for f1 IMO, for many reasons.
I can’t tell if he likes it there, or is fighting his way to move up/out. I suppose the first has the effect of the second,
I have got the perfect replacement for Vettel. How about little Schumacher? What a lift that would give for so many of us.
Mick Schumacher finished only 12th in the 2019 F2 Championship. That hardly qualifies him for a seat in F1. If he improves in years to come, that may be different.
Ricciardo is a better fit then Vettle! in my opinion just watch this he is to inconsistent he's lost the mental edge! He's to concerned with congratulating Hamilton on his wins!
It's difficult to expect anything from Ricciardo at the moment. Torn with internal politics and a limited budget, Renault is in complete disarray, and going from bad to worse, I think. The car are not developed, also Ricciardo dropped out of 5 races with reliability problems this year. I don't think he has forgotten how to race, but there won't be any occasion to show it until he gets out of Renault.
I agree. Gasly is underrated and hungry, and I believe he would be a good number two who would score solid points and not make waves in the team.
I saw the slo-mo that showed LeClerc turning slightly right. But if you watch at full speed, LeClerc's steering wheel is oscillating left and right, as this view shows. It's only when you watch the full speed shot from the front that you see that LeClerc's car is going straight while Vettel deliberately moved into LeClerc. Vettel was trying to intimidate LeClerc and LeClerc was having none of it and held his ground.
