I had the same experience getting my 458 spider. I was looking for models with 10 to 20,000 miles on it. Every time Scottsdale Ferrari got one, it would be gone within a matter of weeks. Next time it happened, I went head and jumped on mine from them. The cars I were looking at varied in asking price from $175 to 190k. I think that is what made them such a desirable buy.
prices on 458 spiders in the US have remained fairly stable since I have been tracking them over the past 6 months
458s definitely seem to be popular right now, especially the nice ones. I’m in full search mode for the right one, but I keep coming back to the 675LT. It makes me nervous from a maintenance and reliability standpoint, but it’s just so much car for the money.
Cant argue with your sentiment on LT. Do drive both, different emotions. That Mc series always left me feeling a tad cold, despite the big performance lead over the 458. Kinda like a 488 feels similarly cold.
I test drove one before buying my 458. It was crazy fast and I really felt I was sitting inside a space ship in some way because of the seats, steering wheel and all. It was really cool. But I didn't "fall in love" with it like I did with the 458 spider. The 458 however has enough power for me to almost manage. I was scared driving the first two weeks haha now I feel like I have tamed this wild horse. Also, another emotional and sentimental feeling I had was that Ferrari is a ferrari. It's simply a childhood dream... Your choice try both Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
Yeah, I do need to drive one. I have absolutely loved the 458s I’ve driven. And I agree, nothing has felt as special as a Ferrari to me.
Are you talking about Rob ferreti's car? 12 with 27k miles in red. That's a rental car sold at auction for 135 (15k miles put on the car over 15 months)
The 458 is just awesome and fast enough for me . The best description I can give mine is it's just raw compare to the other offerings . The sound performance etc. and Ferrari is so iconic it's just sick . I think I'm going to the garage now and sit in mine !!! LOL
I was toying with the idea of getting one a few months ago but just couldn't part with my Manual 360 Modena..and almost every one i was interested in is still on the market. I think it all depends, the good deals on good cars go quick, the overpriced ones aren't moving much
I’m under the impression that’s a competitive offer. If they buy it from you at 190, I’m sure they feel confident they’ll advertise it around 220 and sell it quickly. All I can say is that if the dealer’s offer is tempting and makes financial sense... Don’t sell! There are plenty of nice sportscars you can buy for 190, for sure... But is there a true replacement for a 458 in your life? To me, the answer is a flat no. I wouldn’t part ways with my 458, only if someone would offer me double of what I paid (which, of course, no one in their right mind ever will) and even so, I’d take the money and buy another 458. Kind regards, Nuno.
I’m drinking coffee now getting ready for work, exhausted....was sitting in my 458 Spider in the garage with a beer after midnight last night...
RACE now has to post their finance exposure in their financials... I don't have it at hand, but I've seen the numbers before and they are significant. FNA carries roughly $800mm in financed liabilities, so it is a significant portion of their business.
Financing from Ferrari is awfully expensive but in Europe it seems people go for it because of VAT implications (using a company to recover the VAT I assume - although I'm struggling to understand how it could be justified).
I wouldn't limit yourself to low miles only. I have had a few Ferrari's and currently have a 488 and 458 spider. I have put 18,000+ miles on my 458 since 2013, drive it very hard, and it runs like a top with zero problems other than maintenance. The only reason it doesnt have more is I have several exotics. When I bought my first Fcar, I wanted low miles so I bought a 3000 mile 360 spider 3 pedal back in 2009, since then I get new, but that said my higher mileage car runs just the same. Heck I've put 1000 miles on y new Ford GT in 10 days. Use 'em, drive 'em and dont be afraid of 'higher" mileage Fcars.
Yep, that is the one. Manheim had it as a 4.9 CR, which is quite impressive relative to other cars in various independent dealer inventories around the country.
458 vs 458 Speciale Which is a better buy on the investment side? The car is pretty much the same but is the Speciale rare enough to warrant paying 150k more for it? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Speciale has more room to fall in this economic environment. Had both, preferred Italia and Spider to Speciale.
Investment? Neither. But you will probably lose a bit less on a Speciale. Want to invest in a car? Sure. Buy a 330 GTC
