Sorry late for reply on this..
-Last major in ‘15. Car has travelled only 3k mi since then though.
    -New water pump in ‘14
    -New starter in ‘17
-Oil services done annually. I have 20 yrs worth of receipts

The most awesome thing are the brand new hides on the seats, just done. It’s excellent work.
This cars paint & black trim are pretty eye-popping as well.

I sent my friend Andreas your way.

Based on the market I think you're on with pricing if the car is in very good condition. Do you happen to have compression and leak down numbers for the car (possibly from last major)?

Great car- love it. excellent to excellent minus condition? Based on latest Hagerty and in my opinion ( you might disagree) probably putting this car in the 2 to 2- range, here is an estimate that might be of use ( or not:))

I wonder why so many on autotrader in the $80k+——> $100k+
Being able to negotiate a “deal” down to those Haggerty prices seem improbable.
Is Haggerty really a market benchmark?

Thank you I spoke with Andreas.
I do not have compression or leak down #s. Nothing was/is suspected wrong with the power train from the cars running behavior, so I guess it just wasn’t/wouldn’t be done.

Great question. I don’t know, but as a nerdy Engineer, I love Dara and and statistics. Hagerty seems to have access to a lot of actual sales data, so it’s a good reference, but I try and look at other published data sources and and aggregate as appropriate. At the end of the day, it’s worth what someone will pay. Your car looks great so it may we’ll be sold higher than Hagerty. Best of luck.

One other thing to keep in mind. If you pull up the latest Hagerty data from the website, what is more important than any point in time dara point is the 3-5 year trend data that they provide. Unfortunately in the case of the 3x8’s tend over the last year, the value have been falling quite quickly. Again, just one data point

I sold an '89 last year with 25k miles. It was concours condition, books, manuals, tools, cover, etc. Maintenance history/records impeccable, with a 2018 major done by one of the best in the US. Sold for $90k and I believe it was ALL the money, and it deserved it. My .02 is that with over 40k yours takes a hit in that top dollar market for collectors and puts it more as a really high quality driver. If it were my car, I would sell it with a fresh major, or promise the buyer that you will have it done prior to delivery. Then it would justify the asking price. If you want to sell as-is, I personally would lower the price.

I do want to sell as is 2 reasons..
Car not due for major on time and certainly not on mileage. I’ve also been told that buyers would like to have that done at their shop to their spec.
If someone would like to bring me an offer....
I’d like to move the car, but don’t have to move the car. Obviously any buyer is going to offer less than asking.

I think we started at $105k, held it there for 6 months, then lowered to $95k.

classic cars you can ask whatever you want and “dare” people to find a better example. Newer cars you have to price into the market.

if I were you I would ask more than your bottom line, and never adjust the price until you have to unload it.

on another note, is the 355 for sale?

    Noted

The 355? My gated ‘98 perfect colors & condition GTS...only at a price that would make Haggerty look like real market morons ;)
