if you have somebody who can use a breakbar to hold the flywheel at the gearbox inpection port at the bottom, then no, u don't need the tool plus, the tool from hill engineering doesn't fit very well.
actually, u don't even need a breaker bar. sometimes I use a nut or a bolt of appropriate size, and it kinda just "jams" in there and the flywheel won't move big LOLOLOLOLOL
There’s a simple method that requires nothing extra. Don’t know if you can do it with f1 cars. Put on the e-brake, put in gear, someone step on brake. Works every time (so long as clutch is intact and doesn’t slip). Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
can anyone provide a source or the measurements for the distance between the cams and the outside diameter of the pulleys? I am not able to access mine - remove the covers without draining the engine coolant, etc.
There may indeed be ways to avoid using the tool but I bought the tool and found it to fit and work perfectly and be very well engineered and made
You should be changing the coolant at regular intervals. I use the belt change as time to change it. Don’t skimp on coolant changes unless you want to be dealing with heat exchanger problems. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Hey Guys, my name is Justin "Sleeves". I recently purchased a 2004 360 Spider and it would be great if I could get the timing belt instruction as well. Thanks!
Hi Rusty. I have a question. I Notest a left timing belt a litte loose. I am resetting the hydraulic tensioner at 2 mm. After i turn the engine 2 times what is the harmonic tension reading? The same as the new belt ? 190 to 210? Thanks
