I'd give a slightly dissenting view. Thought it was a mediocre movie, but not terrible. I did manage to watch the whole thing. Have certainly seen much worse, and MUCH better.
Avengers endgame at home and The Art of Racing in the Rain....sucker for dogs especially one named Enzo!
Downton Abbey. Many, many good zingers from the Dowager Countess. Parts of the plot you could see coming from 2 miles away, but still entertaining. Ended in a way that they can do a sequel if they want. Which means if it makes enough money. Sent from my Samsung Note 8 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Ad Astra in imax, the first movie I've seen in a theater in a few years. My observations: the movie trailers hit 95dB according to my apple watch. it was loud. I am definitely old and you should stay off my lawn. The movie itself did not stand up to scrutiny, plot-wise, but it was an enjoyable watch on the big screen. Oh, and if you're going to watch Gremlins 2, don't watch this first.
Saw Ad Astra as well. A little disappointing, as I was excepting a sci-fi extravaganza and got a 1.5hr Brad Pitt monologue wrestling with his relationship with his father. Extremely predictable....are people getting paid to write stories/scripts like these? WTF.
The Art of Self-Defense They call it a dark comedy thriller. I honestly didn't find it that funny...the jokes were mistimed/misplaced and way too infrequent and not funny imo. If they were more often it would have fit that style I suppose. Pretty unique film, though.
Star is Born w bradley cooper and gaga. Not a movie for me but no sports to watch so I picked it for my wife who loved the Streisand version. She walked away after 20 min and I watched entire movie. Figure you know someone after 35 yrs marriage. Anyway, surprisingly enjoyable film. They make very appealing couple, her voice is incredible and he holds his own too. Couldve used subtitles for all his mumbling and didnt understand few plot points but otherwise good way to spend rainy night in front of tv
Midway, on Sunday night. Some usual Hollywood exaggerations at times, but generally quite accurate historically, the CGI planes generally fly realistically, and the battle sequences are decent. Better than the 1976 movie of the same name and far better than Pearl Harbor.
Joker WAAAAYYYY over rated. Good but I will live a happy life if I never again hear that obnoxious laugh that Phoenix came up with for the character. Jedi
so disappointed in it as a movie where I expect to believe in characters dialog and relationships. this had dialog straight out of a hallmark tv movie. the racing was as unrealistic as youd expect for mainstream Hollywood but still exciting. very inferior to the hunt v lauda movie rush for few yrs ago. that was very good. forget comparing this to mcqueen
Forget trying to compare Midway to Charlton Heston also. They just don't make movie stars like they used to. In fact, they make them using computers.
true but I thought the 2 guys playing lauda and hunt were fabulous. I usually like bale and damon too. it was just a terrible script and fact that damon doesn't look like Shelby at all
Wife & I saw "Doctor Sleep" over the weekend. She had read the book, and I hadn't. We both liked it quite a bit.
