Apparently, Ferrari (finally) got a BoP boost that no doubt helped Risi's effort, but they do tend to excel at the longer races. One of the Ford GTs finished second, less than 10 seconds behind. The #912 Porsche won the season championship in GTLM.

During one of the practice sessions (might have been Sat's morning warm ups) the IMSA radio guys were speculating that with the driver lineup in the car, we may be seeing more of Risi for next year. GTLM is so much better with them around.

I don't think it's that they got a BoP boost, there just weren't any Ferraris running GTLM for the majority of the season so they didn't get whacked by the BoP stick.

great pole and win for Ferrari...wish they could run the full season, GTLM is going to be a thin field next year with the Fords going away, even with a potential 1 car privateer effort. would be nice to see a 488 or two on the grid next year.

I was happy to see them win the race. They were strong all weekend.

I'm still not sure how the #31 DPI managed to absolutely torpedo a GTE 911 towards the end of the race (costing the 911 a position or two) and was still able to win the race penalty free.

    Who owns IMSA?

    Who owns Road Atlanta?

    Who owns the #31?

Great win for Risi although I wish the cars sounded as good as the 458's. They still look very pretty other than the ugly side scoops. Look forward to next year and the flat plane V8?? Corvette's... I think they sound great along with the loud Porsches.

The Porsche will be an all new car next year. Rumor has it the new car isn't quite as loud.

If you haven't seen it, the RSR made an appearance at Talladega

  9. Write the script for everybody.

    Have 'em learn it.

    Put on the show.

    Easier and how exciting.

    Great "racing".

The announcers said that they got a BoP adjustment, though I'm not sure exactly what.

  12. You're quite alert.

    We need more lerts. :)

I've seen BoP notifications somewhere. I'm on a mission.

I recall a few years back when Action Express won Daytona, someone here posted (might have been you?):

“So a team owned by the France family, in a series owned by the France family, racing at a track owned by the France family, actually won the race. What are the odds?”

Not saying there’s necessarily anything untoward about it, but let’s just say the optics are a bit suspect.

Over the past 2 years, for 488 had engine power penality in IMSA and WEC. Maybe this has just been canceled?

None the less, AF Corse won GTE Pro at Le Mans and Risi took PLM.

It was disappointing at Sebring that there were no Ferraris in GTLM and only one in GTD since
the fight for GTLM between the Fords, Corvettes, Porsches and BMWs was riveting.

    May be.
'Bulletins are here for you, have at 'em...... https://competitors.imsa.com/102018/2019-imsa-technical-bulletins 'Not interested enough to do the research.
I enjoyed racing for it's roots. The purpose of the sport is lost.......to find out what and who deserves to win; not what or who is aided or handicapped to or from victory (or even just competitiveness) in order to put on a "show"case for the manufacturers.
