I have been gone a while. I have been working on other things that took all my time. As of a few days ago I am a member here for 16 years. I went to Algar for an event last Saturday, and ended up with a 2014 458 Spider. It is going right into storage, though I was able to take it out for spin. I was quite impressed, and that was without the tires warmed up.

Taking it right into storage? Surely there’s some good driving left on your PA roads before winter arrives (?)

Congrats! I have an identical ‘13.

Morrie! You’ve done it again! Congratulations. I’ll be very interested to see what you do to improve the car. I’ve been contemplating moving from the 360 to a 458. If only they had a third pedal.

Thanks Scott, I will always have at least one three pedal car. I am a dinosaur and after the 360 and 430 3 pedal cars as you may remember I was on the no 3 pedal no more Ferrari's for a while, but even us old dogs can learn and these cars have power and abilities far beyond (yes I stole that) what most drivers and public roads can handle. The DCT boxes are just better suited to the cars capabilities. I just took out my winter cars and among them is my winter 911 (991 C4S tuned, with PDK tune as well), and I never thought I'd say this but I like it better than Porsche's 7 speed manual (who needs 7 speeds in a manual). I have learned to appreciate the DCT's and even have a AWD sports car. The times they are a changing (yeah I stole that one too). Algar will have it ready to go Saturday, so I may take it out for a while. It is not the weather but the temps, not easy to heat up the tires on public roads. Thanks everyone, and I am getting close to 500 cars, but it has been 7 months since I bought a car, that is a record I think.

Thanks everyone, I am taking it Saturday morning, and I will keep it at home until it is too cold to get any traction.

Morrie, it’s going to be in the mid-50s Sunday. Why don’t you join us on the rally? Algar always has a terrific route, challenging questions to answer, and a great restaurant destination. It’s usually about 100 miles, so it will give you an opportunity to shake the 458 out. Enlist your girlfriend because you’ll definitely need a navigator. Carolyn really enjoys it.

I am thinking about it Scott, but my girlfriend cannot make it this year, so I would just be driving myself. I am picking the car up later this morning.

The car is in my garage, the four new tires did not arrive in time to get them on before I took it. That did make yesterday breakdown run a little like a drift contest. The fading tires and the cold temps made my drive exciting to say the least, but the 458 is pretty easy to control when the rear does not want to go the way you point the car. I

Weather permitting, head west young man. Rt. 100 south out of West Chester towards the DE border. You won’t regret it.
