Has anyone ever seen an actual test for the Huayra? I was talking to a friend who owns a 918 and was interested in a Huayra and he told me that the Huayra felt slower than his 650s. I was poking around Rennteam and saw a test where the Huayra went 0-300 kph in 29 seconds which is over 10 seconds slower than a real world 918.

I can't reconcile the performance of these cars with the price if they're really that slow.

Paganis are the Hublot or Vacheron of cars. Gorgeous mechanized things that keep no better time than a Swatch, but that's not really the point. I am sure they go very, very well and am likewise sure no owner will ever put one on track against, say, a Corvette and there is no conceivable, upside to such a comparison.

Not sure your facts are correct.

    I have an F12 and a Huayra.
The Huayra feels materially faster than the F12 which has a 22.9 second 0-300 km/h.

Compared with the F12 the Huayra has the same power, 60% more torque (811 lb/ft vs 508 lb/ft) and weighs over 600 pounds less!

Not sure what that translates to in 0-300 time, but it's going to be a LOT faster than the 22.9 seconds of the F12. The Wall Street Journal article on the Huayra from 2012 quotes a 0-300 time of "about 18 seconds". Which sounds plausible.

    Anyway 2 conclusions here
    1. Huayra and 918 both fast
    2. your friend never drove a Huayra :)

Correct and Pagani is more about creating something special, wheras 918 is the ultimate expression of modern technology. I love them both. Wish I had a 918 too.

Reason I brought up the thread was that I saw on Rennlist a test conducted by a European Mag (I believe) where they tested the Huayra at 29 seconds to 300 kph and it sounded way to slow to me. Coupled that with what I was told (plus I hate to quote these but Alejandro's videos where he says the Huayra didn't feel impressive compared to his 918) and I was mostly curious as to if owners had tested their Huayra's at all. It's a rare vehicle and I haven't ever seen an owner speak about actual tested times. The car has been around for a while now so I'm surprised I've never seen an owner write about a vbox test like you see on a lot of the other HyperCars.

Btw congrats on the Huayra that's awesome, do you have any pics?

The 29 second time is just flat out wrong. As I said above the difference in the stats to the F12 are huge and if F12 is 22 something the huayra is going to be way less. It's a good point about the tests, but there are almost 10 times as many 918s as Huayras so maybe they are just not so available. I can tell you the Huayra feels twice as fast as the F12.
I haven't driven a 918 but they are supposed to be amazing. Hard to imagine being disappointed from driving a Huayra hard. It's spectacular and the brakes are out of this world.
Here is a pic from last weekend.
