    Does anyone know the first Ferrari model that required removing the engine for routine major servicing ?

    I think it is a 348GT? It is the first road car that was a unibody with a removable sub frame. This is when people started talking about dropping the engine and sub frame to do belt service.

    The Mondial t preceded the 348 (by a few months ;) ). Same engine and basically the same procedures.

    Removable subframes just made it easier to do what the 365BB started.
