    I have a 1977 308GTB (21833).
    1. Back then, were cars shipped from the factory with radios?
    2. Did the factory ship cars with door speakers already installed?
    3. Did cars leave the factory with electric antennas?

Thanks in advance. I'm just trying to better understand my Ferrari.

Some of the early 308s also had the antennae in the windshield.

Thanks Rob. I've had my 308 GTB since 1980. It was 3 years old when I bought it. The radio that came with the car is a Blaupunkt Berlin "gooseneck" which I assumed all along was dealer installed and you are confirming that. In 1981 I was removing the center console and I found 2 "tokens" buried in there. I assumed all these years that they were Italian bus tokens. I discovered a few weeks ago on the internet that they are for the Triborough Bridge in NYC. So...the original dealer was in the NYC area? The tokens got there when the radio was installed? I really want to know my car's history from 1977 to 1980.

21833 was manufactured in June, 1977. Probably sold in the Fall of 1977.

    Luigi Chinetti Motors?
    Miller Motorcars?
    Algar Ferrari?
    Chinetti Garthwaite?

Are these the dealers that were in around in the NYC area in late 1977? Any help would be appreciated.

IN it or on the roof above it?

I have never seen a 308 with the antenna actually in the windshield

    What he said

Although some 308's did get factory radios. Not sure when they stopped but it was very early on.

In it, this is a picture of my windshield. Look close and you can see the antennae start inside the glass just above the windshield wiper.

Damnation would perhaps be slightly too much, but a fine, maybe? had you browsed through our friend's "TripleBlack" site- on the hereenclosed page, about middle of it - then you would have known that it was deleted rather early, at the end of the first quarter of 1976, so was only fitted to the cars produced during the first six months...

    Did NOT know that !

    I do now.

Wonder why they stopped after the first six months? I'm assuming the roof mount just didn't seem like a great idea so it was the next thought before moving it to the rear fender. But why is that rear fender a better place?

I seem - seem only, not sure! - to recall that the 365 BB also had the antenna embedded "inside" the windshield; but not sure, you would have to check this with "BBs" owners. Not sure that, from a reception point of view (litterally the french word, "reception" which mean "receiving, catching"; don't now if it is the same in English...) an antenna in the rear fender is better...easier to replace than a broken windscreen, maybe?
