    I don't like the world "legend" for it is used for too many occasions these days, but to any Ferrari enthusiast, or to any racing enthusiast for the matter, Mauro Forghieri is a legend indeed.
    (Same generation of men as Leonardo Fioravanti, even almost the same age).

    The 288 GTO is one of the most pictured car in the world. It's very hard to add pictures that show something never seen before: usually they are just (very nice) pictures that show the same cars in various moment of their life. But the car development history from the conceiving up to the production starting is not very well known. My book has almost 300 pictures and 42 of them show the 288 GTO or its details, but just 6 are about something (probably) never seen before.

    What the book adds and it's a world premiere, is the story of the car development, that started on December 8, 1981, during a lunch at the table pictured here below.

    Four persons were there: one was Enzo Ferrari. Other two were Angelo Bellei and Ermanno della Casa. The fourth one, the only one still alive, told me what happened at that lunch, what Enzo Ferrari said (= ordered) and what he answered. And he also tells all the following 288 story up to the F40 Le Mans. And about the F40 development there is a big news too. previously unknown.

    Then Nicola Materazzi, Dario Benuzzi, Calogero Morreale, Marco Arrighi and Mario Vincenzi add some more details about the 288 GTO and F40 story (and about the two liters car too, of course: for those two models we have also the contribution of Ermanno Bonfiglioli and Dario Gozzi). And Mauro Schedoni is the icing on the cake, for all the models.

    You won't find the pictures here below on my book, as it's prohibited to put on a book such pictures (even if I took them in person, it's Enzo Ferrari private dining room at the Fiorano track guesthouse, the small room you can see behind his office), but you can read all the story that is an exclusive world premiere.

    Hi Bertrand, the book has been enhanced with some new pictures and a Mauro Forghieri interview. It has already been translated in English, but just as a first stage translation done by myself. It still needs a second stage good translation: As the official translator works for free, it will take the time he (she) needs.

    Then, to promote my book, I "hired" (I gave him a copy…) a young guy: still unexpert, but he looks to have some skills and maybe one day he will succeed… ;)

    He wrote and signed on my book this period, under the title: "Non saranno 12, ma sono sicuramente da apprezzare" ("they won't be 12, but they are certainly to be appreciated").

    Who knows if that will help… :D

    Of course it will help; I have no doubt that your book deserves success, but having it signed by the Master himself is just "Something else". To me, he is the "real deal", the Legend. And at 84, he looks younger than ever.

    Thanks Bruno: I was joking, of course. I was there (at his home) only to give him his copy as a gift that I promised during last year interview. He was so kind to sign my copy too, and I was very happy of that, of course: I asked him if I could a picture when he was signing and he said "yes", so here you are.

    He still is brilliant and we had a very pleasant conversation, mixed with some amusing jokes in local dialect.

    He is a living legend that deserve maximum respect.

    All the 308 owners worldwide possess an example of design genius. Looks better and better with each passing year. One of the best Ferrari designs of all time. Long health to the "Father".

    Earlier this year in Brescia, at the start of the Mille Miglia and at the local bookstore where the 1000 Miglia actually starts I already had the pleasure to read it, or better said to view it as my Italian is still not where I would like it to be! :)
