In appreciation for Toro’s exploits in pulling JV’s no-no out of the gaping jaws of no-decision irrelevance, the future Hall-of-Famer took the rookie out for a steak dinner and gifted him with a Rolex, engraved with “Thank you,” Verlander’s name, and the game’s box score.

Kewl story ^^. Abraham Toro was drafted in the 5th round, a few years ago and came from a junior college. He will make it in baseball. 22 years old.

Admittedly the Red Sox aren’t having a great season, but at the Rays game last night Betts showed why he gets consecutive golden gloves. This throw out is ridiculous.

Jameis Winston pulled this against Clemson. Out at third-same dis-belief reaction from the runner-no Uber drivers harmed on the play. All jokes, Winston's arm may be bigger than either of Mookie's legs so this is pretty impressive.

Could not believe the lack of Rays fans at this game and series. 9000 at this game and looked like most were Sox fans. Inches away from the post season. Maybe they can break 10k fans if they're still playing next week.

Yup, the college game dominates, especially football. When I was a kid in Jacksonville we always wanted a pro team...until we got one.

Of course I wouldn't mind Jalen Ramsey getting traded back to the Noles, maybe right around now

Gotta say, TB looks pretty good tonight against the Yanks. Thru 5 Morton's got that tailing heater hitting the inside corner of the lefties-looks un-hittable. Houston we may have have a bigger problem

Haaaa! Yup, it's a rough go these days. That's why the Noles need Ramsey back but I doubt the ncaa would be happy with that

Rockies beat the Brewers. Cubs beat the Cards. Cards lead for the central division still 1.0 games.

    Two games to go.

Immaculate inning is the term for a perfect inning.

The pitcher can only throw a called strike, or one of the pitches results in a foul ball, by the batter. ( 9 pitches only ). *No more than three pitches to each batter.

Apparently, it is a big deal with pitching circles and enthusiasts. The bench went nuts -especially Gerrit Cole.

Last Astros pitcher to perform an immaculate inning - Brandon Backe 2004.

Yankees & Cardinals should be in every World Series, without exception. Other teams are just for scrimmage/entertainment for yokels.

I like the Cards, at least once they moved out of the Mets' division. Good fans, knowledgeable, very good announcers like Jack Buck, Mike Shannon.

    Yankees? Hate 'em!

    Stros got that Home Field!!

Also, Verlander became the 18th pitcher to reach 3000K's. And he reached 300 strikeouts in a season for the first time.
