    It is true.

Said to be based on LHD 250 GTE 3731GT. Now RHD.

Who did the work? The proportions look to be better done than many others.

    Who is the owner?

Don't know who did it but said to be owned by the owner of the real 250 GTO, 3851, Carlos Monteverde.

Yes Gary Pearson manages and track preps Monteverde's racing cars, he's been racing with him for years.

Pearson knows his way around Goodwood circuit. I binge watched the Saturday and Sunday streams, but missed Friday. I wish I could have seen the Kinrara.

Yes he does, very quick and experienced, from a racing family, his father John is a Jaguar C and D type guru. Gary sold me my first racing car in...1986, a Hawke DL11 Formula Ford 1973 for the pre 74 championship, we called the car Harry the bastard and I sold it back to him a year later, I bent it a few times(!) as I learned as a one man team based at Silverstone and he helped me a little to rebuild it. Good times...

Here are the highlights of the Kinrara race: the Goodwood website has pretty much everything.

    The 2008 auction catalogue states:
'...the coachbuilder of this particular car is unknown at the time of publishing...it is powered by the matching numbers three-litre engine originally fitted to the donor chassis'

My own personal notes indicate 3731 GT was originally painted Grigo Notte 18933 M with a Rosso VM 3171 interior.

It was in the USA certainly by the mid 1990s and was at the Cavallino Classic Track event in January 2006 sporting the same livery it wore at the 2008 RM Auction in London.
The car was advertised in November 2006 by Greg Jones in Florida who had taken the car to the aforementioned Cavallino event, asking price was $325,000
By September 2008 Joe Macari in the UK was offering the car for a speculative £295,000.
When the car was offered by RM (Lot # 233) the reserve was £180,000-200,000 ($319,00-355,000) but failed to sell, the car was awarded its Historical Technical Passport exactly one week before the auction on 22/10/2008.
The car was subsequently repainted in blue and offered again by Macari.
The Old Racing Car Company in the UK had a go at selling the car at which point the car had grown two white longitudinal stripes. Their description stated the body was constructed by Giovanni Gioranengo of Cuneo, Italy and constructed by Greg Jones.

    Thank you, Paul.

I wonder what effect the HTP has on value.

Why this car is accepted by Goodwood staff? Do you know if the real 3851GT has been restored?
    Best regards

    2019 Kinrara Trophy.

Is an entry/results list with chassis numbers published anywhere for the 2019 or 2018 Goodwood Revival races?

3731GT has also recently been converted to RHD. The real 250 GTO 3851 is LHD so how could 3731 fool anyone at all as 3851?

There are several recreations running at Revival...some of which are "tool room" recreations of cars that no longer exist such as Ferrari 156 and Lancia D50, and many more authentic cars that are magically much faster than they were in period. A lot of leeway is given in certain areas because Revival is a stand alone event...thet is, not a part of a larger championship series...so the rules are a bit flexible. The competitors understand and accept it, the spectators don't care all that much, and the event is hugely successful.

I suspect the owner presents the real car's details for the entry paperwork which is done several months before. When the car is brought to the circuit the scrutineers are probably more concerned with making sure the car conforms to the specification of being a 250GTO than checking chassis stampings.

As Jack has said above putting on a good show is more important to Goodwood than the originality. Quite a number of the cars in part 1 of the St Mary's trophy where disqualified for illegal engine parts (including the winner) but there were still allowed to run the next day in part 2 even though they were guaranteed to be disqualified again.

Charles March in a video interview was adamant that replica examples would not race at Goodwood, so why/when did he change his mind? It is clearly well known theses copies are being entered, so not under the radar.

The interview featured on a programme about Jaguar building a number of new E types, in which March stated they would not be allowed to race at his event.

At least Adrian Newey was told not to bring back his Red Bull special E Type a few years ago.
