Hi all. I’m not sure if this is the best place to post. Anyway, am moving to Switzerland (Vaud) from Italy later this year and want to bring my (currently) Italian registered F355.

I’ve had the car 15 years and don’t want to sell it.

Can anybody share advice on how hard it will be to get the car Swiss registered? I’m a bit paranoid about whether they’ll let me register it because a lot of people have told me the Swiss are fanatical about noise and exhaust gas emissions.

I’m getting a B resident permit so I am allowed to import one car as part of my personal possessions, so I’m more concerned about whether they will allow the car as-such from a technical conformity perspective. The car is unmodified/original.

    Any advice gratefully received.

Have it (the registration) done through an official Ferrari dealer. I can highly recommend Niki Hasler AG in Basel, Switzerland.
Cell 079 330 33 73, you can refer to me.

    Pix have been partially photoshopped.
And you cannot "buy" VD 355. All license plates in Switzerland belong to the Swiss Government.
In a few of the cantons (there are 26 in Switzerland) there are occasional auctions for certain low numbers. However, a three digit number like VD 355 would certainly cost several hundred thousand Swiss Francs.
Check the website of the Canton Vaudois DMV. And good luck.

    Hi!
I'm living in the canton de Vaud too, in which city will you live?
If you want to look after a particular number, you have to create an account on https://www.encheres-vd.ch/#
then look after the numbers that are available. 6 digits cost min 200CHF, 11'000 to 99'000 300 CHF, 10'000 to 10'999 1000CHF and 1 to 9'999 2000CHF. You have to place a bid on the number you want and if nobody place a higher bid, then the number is yours after 7 days. You have 1 year to register your car. VD355 is currently not available but there is a lot of numbers which include 355. As Mr Massini said, auctions for very special numbers can reach crazy prices!

Feel free to PM me for any other question. Sorry for my bad English.

I would be very pleased to meet you and your 355 ;)

    Hi Romain

Thanks a lot for the info. It would be fun to have a unique number. I saw a few numbers on that website that had 355 in them.

We will live somewhere between Lausanne and Montreux, the relocation company are helping us look. Aiming to move there early next year with my company.

I wish Zurich would finally change their stupid auctions to that mechanism. Wishful thinking though...
