I admire your attention to detail!

When I looked through the books of serial number #17327, also a UK supplied car, it contained this Voxson booklet. Hope it helps.

Does it require a pre-amp or just plug speaker wires into back?

Some Voxson radio units were sold in UK apparently as Radiomobile.
I have removed the original speakers and you guessed it; Radiomobile speakers and they still work fine. I've managed to get exactly the unit above in the photo so will update when serviced and installed as it waits its turn in the queue for all the other items to go back into place during the resto.

I wonder if you really got this model of Voxson Sonar 108 installed in your car.....
Since december 1972 the stereo fm version (108FMS) was available Worldwide....even if not with fm up to 108 mhz...it was a great improvement in the Voxson Sonar...range.
I don't know your taste but I would also suggest to give a peep to what is the first model, Sonar GN104/SR, 1967.
I am a Voxson expert and service them all.
On our Lancia 2000 HF coupè (1972, Bosch injection) my son preferred the 1975 model, Sonar 1008 FMS, as (at last!) it had the full fm range.
    Always at your disposal.

I bought mine off of Italian ebay. Sent it to a fellow here in the states installed new belts head adjusted, basically had him go through the unit plus add an auxiliary input. Have not installed it yet. Mine came with the preamp attached to the unit.

While I was chasing for a Becker I cam across this ad. For whoever might be interested in these Voxson radio, this seems like a reasonable priced unit (119€). Note that this is the AM only radio (no FM modulation), and the seller only tested the radio (so requires new rubber for the 8 track). The guy seems to have quite a few vintage radios.

    Good day Raemin,

Indeed, the price is quite reasonable. I found a similar unit in a bit worse condition for just under $60 on Ebay (the seller was in Italy), but it was not guaranteed to work. In my case I did not care, as I bought it to use as an example for a modern replica version I have been slowly working on. In my case I wanted something that looked and fitted as the originals, but had modern internals and goodies.

    Cheers,

    Sam
