As an 812 owner I absolutely love this 'new' shape. Especially the last of the above pics gives the car a little bit of a 'classical elegance' hint.
The pessimist in me could say that it is more a targe than a true convertable…. But I see the the limitations the designers had to work with...

Looks good. Going to be good deals on 812 coupes. No reason to buy a coupe anymore since this is essentially a targa.

It's kinda crazy how much money they left on the table over the last 10-15 years by not having convertible GTs. No idea why it took them this long to launch a normal series GT convertible.

saw Yesterday in red and in that gray shown: that gray is stunning and (I think) car looks better in elegant colors rather than in red, exactly like Daytona spider did. Very good looking car, despite the front part is unchanged.

That's how a front engined rwd Ferrari in my opinion has to be: convertible/spider.

    ciao

No game for the Aston, sorry

Never been a big fan of the 812, but I like the spider: the side view is less busy and the odd shaped rear window is gone.

Ah, Ferrari and their naming conventions. Instead of naming the 488 convertible GTS, to go with the GTB, they call that Spider. There is absolutely no logical sense in that :)

Love it, that car is logical and natural in Ferrari's lineup that it seems to have always been there. Nobody ever gave me a satisfying answer to why the hell Ferrari never relaeased a regular production convertible V12 instead of those limited editions , while being great cars, are limited therefore not accessible and not practical (No roof)

OK, gotta admit I maybe reacted too quick (hard to admit !). That’s the problem with leaked photos, bet Ferrari cross at the lack of courtesy by clients and guests. I was hoping for a flat deck “proper convertible” and this looked like a parts bin targa, with that strange after thought tinted window. In the right spec however this could be very distinctive. Silvers will for sure suit.

I think it will be very colour sensitive.

Any sign of pricing please ?

For sure coupe depreciation could be challenging now........

    Quote from CAR AND DRIVER:

"The V-12 had to employ some tricks to comply with emissions regulations. Its high-pressure injection system reduces the number of particles that are emitted before the catalytic converter warms up. There's also a new gasoline particulate filter, and the GTS uses a stop-start system to further mitigate the thirsty V-12's demands."

Not bad at all. Seems to me that it's more of a targa than a convertible though.

Sounds great. Maybe a tiny bit less raspy, but that could be the recording. And if it is the case, I'm sure sport cats and/or Capristo mufflers and x pipe will add that little extra for those in need of a very loud car.

    Good stuff

The 3/4 angle is the most critical one from flash. As a owner of the 812 coupe’ I can’t see an improvement on the design... but of corse is a convertible so you have something less and something more... however the v8 integrate much much better the spider declination of itself

I thought a targa had a removable top, rather than a retractable folding automatic hardtop. Or is it all in flux and you’re more saying the aperture is not large?

Much better design for the 812, a car I've never really liked in terms of design. The C pillar (or B pillar in this case?) just works so much better on this one. Makes the car look shorter, and that's not a bad thing when it comes to the 812. The GTS deserves different headlights tho... and the blacked out part in the c pillar should have been real glass. But that would probably mess up the construction and so on.

I find this very well done. Great design, much better looking than the Superfast imo :)
