I had no rubber dust ring on my bearing at all, so it wasn't a problem.

    Update.

This past Friday I changed my right front wheel bearing. It was giving wheel vibrations while I was driving on the freeway. So it was time to put a new one on.

I got the bearing off pretty much the same as I did the left side. But thanks to a VERY helpful tip from an f-chatter I was able to EASILY get the inner bearing race off the flange.

Looking at this picture, I inserted 2 screw drivers into the holes on the front side of the flange. I did this with the flange off of the hub, and of course with the nut off too. I just forgot to take the pic when I had it off. Anyway. With the screw drivers in the holes I turned the flange upside down, so that the screw drivers where on the ground, then in banged the flange on the ground, forcing the inner bearing race off.

I don't remember exactly who it was that told me about this, but THANK YOU very much for the tip. It really made the job sooooooo much easier the second time around.

I think it was me. Also its much easier to undo and replace the hub nut as the first/last task by shoving a screwdriver in the brake disc so it limits against the caliper.

    Ah HA!!!!!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! That tip was a HUGE help this time around.

Thanks for that tip too. I didn't have to worry about that as I have a really good impact wrench. But if I was just using a breaker bar that would have been a definite must. I actually use that trick when I'm breaking loose the nuts on the cv joint.

    Thanks again.

I need to change the RF bearing on my 1991 348ts but I have read that NSR TGB10894S03 bearing wont fit to ABS car due to the dirt lip. That bearing is cheap here in Belgium but if it won't fit.........Any advice are welcome.

Can you take some side by side photos of the two bearings?

Here's the specs for the TGB10894S03 (Citroen), from page 38 of the linked pdf:

I don't know who told you that, or where you read it. From the experience on my car ('90) that is not true.

I am running that exact bearing on both the front right, and front left of my car, AND as you can see in post #3 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/138607509-post3.html where I remove the ABS sensor, also in post #8 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/138607573-post8.html the ABS wheel is attached to the back of the bearing. So it did fit my on my 348 which has the ABS hardware.

You may want to ask the bearing supply shop what their return policy is if the bearing doesn't fit. Out of curiosity how much is that bearing in Belgium?

On my ABS 328 I had to grind off 1mm of the metal dust shield so it didnt contact the raised rubber oil seal on the bearing. Maybe its not the same on 348, and the problem is not insurmountable.

    Ernie,
I had a 1st quotation about the SKF one at 261€ each but not available through their supplier chain.
I received another quotation from the same company, here in Bruxelles (www.123roulement.com), for the SNR TGB10894S03 at 150€.
(https://www.123roulement.com/roulement-TGB10894S03.php) They did gives me a discount.
When you say you did not had any dust seal on yours, did you removed them ? May I remove the inner one if I have problems ?
    Thanks for your great help.

    Phil.

    Ernie,

I received the bearing today.(see pics).I thought about leaving the inner dirt seal off,as it is already not on the bearing but wonder if the grease will go off the bearing balls. 82K Km for a bearing is pretty soon to be noisy.Perhaps the dust cover was not sealed properly ?

You could try pressing the seal in and see if you can get it to work. If not you can always take the seal out. Again, it is up to you.

Here are some cross-over numbers I found for the Citroen CX bearing on the Oscaro.fr site. As best I can tell Moog is not Chinese and is US origin however I cannot source their suppliers, so it is just a suggestion. Oscaro.fr has them at good prices; about Euros 112-116. Check their US web site?
