Not many breakfast guys here... Oh well, here are a couple from the past weekend (sigh...lookit that lame color on the eggs...yup, store-bought. My neighbors chickens got eaten by dogs when they were away camping...so its gonna be awhile for more "real" eggs). I added a handful of feta cheese to the eggs and I have to say...that was awesome. My breakfast during the week is usually oatmeal with hot sauce or a plain greek yogurt with blueberries. Not worthy of a picture. Weekends are better with fried eggs - also with hot sauce! Some fruit too.
I'm kinda the same. Yogurt and berries 5x per week, eggs a couple of days. Unless we have a good supply of the real eggs...then those ratios reverse!
My wife likes bacon & eggs for breakfast - the pooch as well - and has the cholesterol level to make it feasible. I am not a huge fan of breakfast. As long as I get my caffeination, I'm good to go for most of the day. I'll usually eat a cup or two of yogurt. If I go crazy, I may sprinkle some granola on it. T Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ania's back after two weeks back home in Krakow. And the local family's chickens are back in egg-laying business. So that combination led to this morning's breakfast (I woke to the smell of baking): Challah bread! Super yummy with a bit of butter and some local jams. Note the yellow color from using the local eggs (which have deep orange yokes). Tomorrow we might try to make french toast out of this bread...pics to follow. Today I made french toast out of the Challah bread that Ania baked yesterday. I haven't made french toast in 20 years I bet. Pretty damn good I have to say. Still having a lot of fun with the Lodge cast iron pan set we bought recently too. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
She made banana-pecan whole-wheat pancakes today. I added bacon of course... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Holy moley, that's a symmetrical flap jack! Ran across this when I was traveling on biz last week. Add water, stick in fridge, eat the next morning. Image Unavailable, Please Login Good idea; I like steel cut oatmeal, but it's a pain to make with the roughly 1 hour prep time. Too much sugar in the commercial project, of course. So, I set about making my own. This is my favorite recipe thus far... https://www.bobsredmill.com/recipes/how-to-make/overnight-steel-cut-oats/ Pretty tasty with a flavored yogurt mixed in. More like muesli in flavor. T
The oats in the pic are "rolled", so they cook faster than just "steel cut". Hence, other option was to add milk/water & 'wave it, but my hotel room did not have a microwave. But, it did have a fridge. So, I went the low & slow route. The oats I have @ home are not "rolled" - so have to play the long game. The last batch I made was 1 cup oats, 1 cup water, pinch of salt, a splash of cream, and then mix in a cup of Dak Prescott's favorite yogurt (Oikos Triple Zero). Took about 2 mins to mix the night before. For my wife, I microwaved the cold oatmeal. I ate mine cold...T

Fake sugar like Equal, Splenda, etc. is gross. And, my stevia plant went kaput after 2 weeks of triple digit heat. ☹️ T
Brunch today rather than lunch. Utilizing a leftover Chili Relleno and tortillas from yesterday's lunch. Also had Challah rolls that Ania baked this morning. Pickup up some eggs from the neighbor's (see prior post). Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I woke to the smell of baking bagels today! Love bagel day. Had one with some of the farm eggs for breakfast today. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
We have a new, very gritty and authentic looking diner near us. They just re-opened after being abandoned for many years. Driven by many times and not wanted to enter. But...well, Ania loves that sort of place and simply had to go. We went for breakfast and ordered this typical spread. Was actually pretty good. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh hell yea! There's a waffle house literally a mile and half from me, if that. And I never go. There's times you drive by and you think, how the hell do they stay in business. Then every day after that I drive by and the parking lot is full for a week. I'm having such great nostalgia right now. I'm smelling the smells and what it smelled like when i was a kid on vacation.
