    My theory is that Northern Italy mostly escaped the carnage of the two World Wars. Which meant that the buildings and their architecture survived and was preserved.

    So what does one with a desire for aesthetics do? Design. This lead to wonderful design work throughout Northern Italy.

    But what about the rare combination of an engineer that appreciates good design? Automotive design.

    It's no accident that all three came from the same region.
