met her a few times when in lived in SoCal, she was doing the "1001 things to do with a car" show at the time. good person, a lot of fun. amazing enthusiasm for cars. RIP.
Just saw this on FB and truly a sad day for auto and speed enthusiasts the world over. I had the pleasure of meeting her a few times (SEMA and other car related events) and she was ALWAYS outgoing, inquisitive, and just a great person to talk to. No matter her schedule, she made time to chat and she had an incredible passion for speed, auto engineering, and life. RIP Jessi...
Very sad news indeed. I admired her enthusiasm and dedication to auto racing and the car hobby in general. She was a true enthusiast of the hobby so many of us enjoy. RIP Jessi.
She crashed on a preliminary run at speeds well past 400MPH....her bf's statement says they were there "immediately" and did "everything they could". I think that's all we are gonna get, truthfully. There had been previous runs with technical difficulties with the car. No info exactly what...... I think the target speed was past 500MPH???
They had cameras everywhere. I'm sure law enforcement is doing an investigation. This could be a manslaughter case if there is negligence or even sabotage. Anything is possible, no matter how unlikely. I'm sure someone has to investigate what happened and submit some kind of report. It wouldn't surprise me that the group involved won't say anything or release any information with a criminal probe looming. In the end it may be just an accident of unforeseen events but someone has to determine that. There will be an autopsy report and all the video evidence will be examined, along with eye witnesses.
I don't think she's ever looked prettier than in a Pur Sang Bugatti 35B: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1964057240277680 Matt
