Dear Brain Trust, This may be a dumb question. My recently new-to me gated 360 would not go into sport mode. I would click the switch and the "sport" light would light for a second than go off and not stay on. Diagnostics said "switch failure". So, I ordered a replacement switch. The thing is, the old switch was the spring-loaded type ---click down and it springs back to position. The replacement switch is two position toggle type --up and down are distinct positions (vs. springing back to position). Appears to have same pin pattern in the back and matches the other switches in the car---both old and new say "SPORT" on them. So which type is SUPPOSED to be in a 360? spring or toggle? Thanks! Ps...I plugged the new toggle-type in and "sport" now stays lit. I have not driven the car yet. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks guys! So weird that the other one was spring loaded. It didn't seem broken. A fair amount of mystery comes with a 17 year old used Italian car F-chat rules! -mark
Someone took the switch apart and screwed it up (Common). It's a 2 position and we can fix it if you need. This is what happens when people that don't know what they are doing pull switches apart
Hmm, I can almost guarantee that in my 2001 Euro 360 all of those toggles are ... "spring-loaded type ---click down and it springs back to position" -type of switches. As my car is in winter hibernation away from my house I can't confirm this until Sat / Sun.
Reporting back. Every else of those toggle is spring loaded one apart that SPORT -toggle which is ON / OFF -type as said by many, funny.
All lever switches have springs. There are three different type switches: - 2 position - momentary forward - momentary forward and backward (window switched, etc) Two different covers with detents are used and people screw them up along with not having a special tool to reassembly.
Do you have any SPORT switches remaining? Are they new? My original switch does not stay activated when pressed downward (SPORT light on dash goes out) and the switch 'clicks' off when I remove my finger.
