They're around - scattered throughout the world - but they don't show up to many shows. Straman didn't touch many Boxers, so they're also really rare.

You may want to post the full 17 digit (Ferrari) VIN, not a number given by Straman.
This might allow to find out more about the early history of your car.

Well it is the last 8 numbers of the Ferrari Factory Vin. Straman only puts a metal tag that says it was modified by R. Straman and the month and year mine says August 1998 and its directly under the factory Vin number plate. when I call service or the parts dept at a ferrari dealership that is what they ask for the last 8 digits of the Vin this tells them what model year etc it is so Straman did not use thier own numbers on thier door tag. just the date month and year it was done. and my post was to find out if anyone on here knows Richard Straman and how to contact him as he is retired so if antone can help I would be grateful Thanks Wyatt

    No, it is not.
"L0007079" CAN NOT BE the last 8 numbers.
    07079 would be a 275 GTS Spider from 1965. Not a 348 from the 1980's.
Please check again and best is to post a good and clear photo of the entire 17-digit VIN stamping on the frame.

348's are in the chassis number range 81204 to 99143.

He's just missed a digit out. It is 87079.

I ought to add, knowing that 348s aren't your thing, that your range for 348s is incorrect. 81204 is a 328 GTS anyway. I think the last 348 is 99947, from a quick look.

Good for you Jonathan. I knew you would jump in..........
It wasn't "my" range anyway, but actually the one of Gerald L. Roush (FML). An he says/said 81204 is a 348.
So, what then is the correct "range" for 348's?

Haha! Well 348s are my thing. I have seen 81204 and it is certainly a 328 GTS. German-registered when I saw it.

I think 79908 to 99947. Or to 99697 if you don't include Spiders.

Is that definitely August 1998? From your picture it looks like it could be August 1993. That might make the conversion a little more logical as it would be early in 348 Spider production rather than after it had ended.

Looks like the sticker, not the plate.
How about a photo showing the actual stamping on the frame?

    And yes, August 1993.

It is definitely Stamped into the aluminum straman plate august 1998 thats why im trying to find richard straman to get this story of who and why they did this instead of just buying a used 348 spyder im thinking it wasnt cheap to do this.so until Straman is found and can answer this it remains a mystery.
