In comparison is my F355 Challenge's undercarriage patinaed by 20,000 miles of track use... Besides offering some protection if the car winds up running over track curbing, they're sometimes used as jacking points while at the track.
Absolutely! My cam covers show battle scars too... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login But I have new Tubi exhaust manifolds. And my car's been hit numerous times and once wound up on its roof at Lime Rock Park when it raced in the Challenge Series... It's a good thing the undertrays are made of fiberglass and can be easily repaired. The pictures don't show it, but those panels are multiple shades of gray.

I have that Challenge rear cross member. You are using that as a jacking point? Won't it collapse that gusset on the surface? That would be a great jacking point if it works ok.
Thanks. Years ago I had Mike Charness, a member of this forum, paint an old Bell Helmet of mine... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My rear Challenge cross member has been used as a jacking point a few times, Bob, without any damage to the gusset. It's very strong and designed for that. It shouldn't be tried with the standard rear cross member.

The European Ferrari Challenge Series was much different than the North American Series. Many of the drivers were professional drivers and they meant business! But yes, that rear Challenge cross member is very strong with that welded gusset providing a lot of rigidity. I've never seen my forward cross member used as a jacking point. The standard side jacking points are used instead. The rear cross member is shorter and very strong.
thought I would change the scenery for the boys at bath time, they spent the entire time stuck to the window shouting "daddy's car, daddy car, ferrara, daddy car, blue, daddy aaaaaahhh, ferraraaaaa" Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
