I actually do not doubt that the spoiler is indeed functional. However, looking at it is the problem. Perhaps when I see the car my opinion will be different. Nonetheless, I think Chevy has done fairly well with this C8 car.
yeah, and how about a carbon fiber tub to make it lighter while they're at. Oh, and still for under $100k. sheesh
It doesn't look like there's any room for active aero (on the rear, at least) due to the packaging of the trunk.
yeah, that's a little much. Point being it's a Chevy. Corvette. A best bang-for-the-buck 'supercar'. Doesn't have to be a $300-$500,000 Ferrari, McLaren or Ford GT. Nothing wrong with that.
Chevy insists "no" but my feeling is consumer pressure may finally free them up to break up that package. Buy the areo (if you want the front and rear), buy the Ediff, buy the exhaust, buy the Magnaride shocks, and buy the bigger brakes each separately. My feeling is they will make more money if they do.
C6 Z51 had a small functional spoiler and the body did the rest. Also useless at legal speed on public roads. Z06 of my C6 generation also has the small black spoiler. I thought it was for the 3rd brake light when I bought the car. LOL Small spoiler C6 Z51: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now your C6 yellow looks much better than the new yellow paint for the C8. The 'new direction' for yellow paint on the C8 looks like it only exists for shock value. Just like a train wreck; you look at all that twisted metal but there is no satisfaction in seeing the wreck or that new C8 yellow either...
This Elkhart lake blue is awesome. No orangepeal at all but I’m sure they color sanded it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Consider yourself lucky! In New Jersey there was no sitting in the C8; only admiring the C8 from behind a steel fence!
Thanks, mine is Velocity Yellow and was only available a few years. They went to millennium yellow after and I don't care for it.
I think peak production of the C7 was close to 40k one year. They averaged about 32 a year except for the last.
Someone is going to make a ton of money selling aftermarket CF pieces for this car. The front and rear lights, the lower rear bumper, the side scoops, the rear wing, and interior parts. Its just crying for more CF to replace the black plastic.
So I was thinking the exact same thing. To me, that’s been a persistent problem with all GM product, crappy leather. I would rather have pleather than “real” leather that can’t stand up to time, or a fat a$$.
