    PM sent Chris, thanks.

Also, buttoned up last night, and had her out around the neighborhood. Making pretty dang good power right now. I need some more shakedown miles but all's progress! Installed new plug wires and rubber surrounds too, and cleaned out both distributors, along with a new rotor in the rear bank's.

    A few updates

Cleaned all Weber parts before reinstalling the carb throats
After some neighborhood miles, there are definitely some flat spots in the tires causing some steering shake/feedback (I've hesitated to invest in new tires since selling it with whatever I choose may not be the next owners fav choice)
There's a crack in the manifold heat shield, but also at low RPMs stumbles (distributors could cause this too) a bit and there is either a gasket leak or crack in the header (I have not pulled it off yet to visually inspect)
I also have to replace one stud (timing cover) into the block
Lastly, with paperwork etc. this will be sold, as mentioned with a Bill of Sale, even with a proper VIN verification done with my state of CT, they've been a PITA using the "#10400" for registration, SO, my proposed fix would be, to it's next owner, utilizing the entire "F106AL10400" for registration. Apparently my issue is not the first dealt with these cars and their 5 digit VINs...

Willing to discuss some price options this week, and if not...I haven't figured out a next step lol

Think the usual fix with the rattling heat shields is to cut them off, although I like the idea of them.

I used a C clamp to compress the shields snug enough to not rattle where ever I could fit the clamp on a GT4 I just worked on. Not mine

looks moldy. Was the car flooded or what is the mold condition of the car?

No, the car was not flooded. It was stored in an airplane hanger in Alabama. I would assume year after year heat/cold cycles certainly didn't help the interior stay "fresh" (and the staining on the trunk carpets, etc.). Other than that there's no "mold condition" of the car, and it is not musty smelling either.

Also, please note, as of today in regards to my post prior. I have now officially FIXED paperwork issue with the state DMV, it is insured and registered in my name, here in Connecticut (I had the VIN verification RE-DONE, with "F106AL10400" used as the entire "VIN" which uncomplicated the situation, and it's good to go now!)

Very good idea. I did have a similar problem with 10402 once, when I came to renew (renew!) the registration they couldnt find it in the system and they had assigned 10402 to a trailer...

I even put the "stars" in mine as asterisks!!

It does not fit the 21 digit format still yet, but you are right the 5 digits just freaks them all out!
Texas State Handbook was telling them the "308GTB" should be reflected in there somewhere!

    That never happened.

That crack in the shielding is absolutely no big deal, I have had my headers glow so hot the shield was melting and hitting the road, splattering!

Hi Rory. I’ve been waiting (2+ months now) to figure out this damn registration. Now that that’s settled, I emailed BaT this afternoon. So maybe it’s on in a week or two? (I paid like 4 months ago for the listing lol)

I knew that car pretty well when Alex owned it in Alabama (I’m about 20 minutes from him on Lake Martin).

You sir have done an incredible job with it, frankly saving me from a late-nights pondering of same!

Hoping it turns out like you hope (and deserve). On a side note, my BAT experience with my ‘auction specialist’ was rotten, but my car did sell and I was paid rapidly. Best to you.

Hey Adams. Hope you're well! Thanks for the kind words.

Alex has been really cool about me and this car. I knew it pained him to see "Giuseppe" go, but I'm also happy to have been able to come in and "save" it (to a point). Frankly, I wish I had a piggy bank of funds to just completely bring it to the next level, but life says differently at the moment, unfortunately.

BaT is hit or miss, I've had OK experiences so far, but communicatively, they take FOREVER.

At the moment, they have responded to my latest inquiry of "when are we getting this ad up", with a response, but no definitive timeline yet lol. Oh well.

Still happy to discuss with anyone interested before it kicks off. Took a few more photos this weekend too.

I saw the car in person. Its really really nice. While anyone can repaint a car, I always look at the underside of a car, if its clean that says a lot. The underside pics tell the story, its a very clean well cared for car that simply wasn't ever run down or abused. Ive seen lots of 20k mile cars that looked nowhere near this good.
