There are currently over 60 599 GTO's known with a higher serial number than this "last one"...

IIRC Phil Bachman owns the very last 599 GTO which was painted in yellow and blue. Talking in general, Bachman always wants the last one which leaves the production line and it has to be yellow!

Mr. Bachmans 599 GTO isn't the last one in terms of the highest serial number known...not even the highest US serial surprisingly.

not the latest VIN just the last built I don't think Ferrari necessarily builds in exact VIN number order... IT seems to me they use assembly number to determine how late it is built which is different then VIN...

From what I gather, a car is given a VIN once it gets a build slot. However, depending on the spec, that car might take a lot longer before completed or put on the line. Some of the Tailor Made stuff takes ages to get done, as materials sometimes have to be tested, approved and/or acquired. Not sure that the VIN tells very much about whether or not the car is the last one off the line. That being said. With 60+ cars with a higher VIN it is highly unlikely that it is the last one.
There have been quite a few "last ones" of various models over the years...

I'd say they would need a proper documentation from Maranello to sell this as the last one built.
As for the yellow spec. To each his own. Not a fan.

All correct here. There is the car with the last VIN, there is the car with the last assembly number, and there is the last car down the assembly line, and of course the last car to leave the factory. It’s easy to document VINs, harder to find out those assembly numbers and all but impossible to figure out or prove last down the line or last to leave the factory. Btw my Tdf was one of the last to leave the factory and one of the last delivered but has at least 10 Tdfs with later vins.

There is no link with all 893 cars but a friend @Zaza has registered 893 VIN.

Please be careful when stating 893 599 GTO. 893 VIN starting by ZFF70 doesn't mean 893 599 GTO. That's not that simple as very often the early prototypes and test mules of a new model, are using VIN structures of existing models. So there might be early proto with a diffferent VIN structure than ZFF70, and there might be ZFF70 vins that are other things than 599 GTO.

I think it is important to settle this issue correctly in a definitive way, I am sure most people will agree that there are more than 599 cars knowing how Ferrari SpA operates, but an extra 300 cars seems extraordinary even for this manufacturer, 700 cars as recorded by the Registry is @ 100 cars extra which seems more plausible, perhaps reality is somewhere between the Registry's number and the higher number being suggested.

    Very good point.

If 893 probably isn't the exact number, it's surely not far from the correct number.

For the 893 units, I really don't know but I trust my friend @Zaza because he's been compiling all datas from the 599 serie for years. Maybe he can explain this number.... The only thing that I can notice since I consult the register is that the number of "spotted" GTOs (with each time a new VIN) is increasing constantly.

Seems like F12 TDF's were not as exploited as the 599 GTO's.
