Brain Crall, long time FCA member and board member of the International Association for the Preservation of the Ferrari Automobile (IAC/PFA) is making a special trip from his home in Austin, Texas just to give this seminar and demonstration to us on the official judging system used for Ferraris.

The IAC/PFA was first started back in 1984 by a group of FCA members to create a consistent judging program that is appropriate for Ferraris. This is the judging program, criteria for the judging and the judges themselves, used at the FCA's Annual Experience, Cavallino, the Ferrari class at Pebble Beach and is migrating into use by more of the international events too. See page 20 of Prancing Horse #208 for more on the IAC/PFA and their leadership roster.

    The seminar will cover:

    · The philosophy of the IAC/PFA - "Ferraris are Meant to be Driven"
    · What to have/to do in order to properly present a car for judging
    · Judging methodology
    · Scoring system
    · Preservation class
    · Additional awards available at the Annual Experience
    · How Classiche certification affects the judging
    · Recent updates of IAC/PFA criteria and why
    · What "accredited judge" means and what it takes to become one
    · Demonstrations with a couple of different Ferraris

I recommend this for anyone that might be thinking of ever showing their Ferrari, has avoided showing because they question if they are good enough, or might want to become an accredited judge. As there have been changes in the points system it will be a good refresher for those that have shown before. This will also be interesting for those that know a different judging system (NCRS, JCNA, CCA, etc.) so they can understand our differences.
